Scenario: You borrow a pair of boots 3 years ago. Everyone forgets about it.....until 2 days ago. The loaner asks for boots back. Can't find boots. Boots were a year old when you borrowed. What would you do?
here is a spin... loaner says boots are 150 dollars new.... what do you pay loaner as "replacement value" on 4 year old boots?
dont borrow stuff if you aren't going to make sure 1) they get it back or 2) you're going to replace it if you lose/ruin them period
I offered to replace. Asked what she paid. She says $150 from Aldo. I KNOW for a fact they weren't from Aldo. Now, the very first thing I said to Robbie was that I know I have put myself in the situation, so there isn't much I can do. However, I feel like she is using the situation to improve her original position. I totally agree she should be refunded for what she is out....but definately not be put ina BETTER situation.
pish posh. you borrowed them 3 years ago, I wouldnt replace them.. its not your fault she forgot you had them, then asked for them 2 days ago. Thats silly. ps; dont replace them.
it's only 150. if that's what it costs to find out they're scummy then whatever. give them the 150 and never bother with them again. my take on it is they forgot about the boots...found something they wanted in the 150 range..then was like ohhhhhh wait tanya borrowed something from me 4 years ago...i will tell her she needs to give me 150. i would buy a replacement pair of boots, give them to them and call it a day. lol. that way they are not out their pair of boots.
and they are obviously a total :douche: to come looking for these boots after so long. I'd laugh at them and send them on their way.
fine, replace 150$ boots, that you borrowed 3 years ago that were 1 year old, I dont care. I just think its dumb.
i suppose it depends on whether you want to stay friends with said person or not i dont even bother asking for shit that i lent out less than a year ago i dont lend out shit that i actually care about though
I don't think they're a douche....they belong to her, and she is entitled to them. She lent them in good faith. However, I am kind of shocked that she tried to pass them off as something they weren't.
