I went for a walk this morning in downtown Halifax... one of the most slippery walks I've ever had in my life! Black Ice everywhere, and lots of it was a bit wet making it that much more slippery

It is pretty facking icy out though... I almost fell 3 times so my neighbor decided to drive me so I didn't have to take the bus. Love my neighbors.

    City roads seem fine.
Came from Hammonds Plains to Burnside without encountering any ice.

I call BS on this one.

Sidewalks in the city suck. I fell on the way from my parking to the hospital. Am cranky at every person who doesn't salt their walk on Wellington St.:pissed:

My kids never get snow days, here in Alberta they never cancel school . It could be -40 and school is still open.

I put the grips on my shoes for walking on the sidewalks and in my driveway. Other than that, the drive in was ok. Fall River-118-Circ-Bridge-Barrington.

If you thought salty fog was bad wait until you see ice fog! Only available in Nova Scotia beginning mid-February 2009.

I actually wiped out in the parking lot outside of my apartment building when I was leaving to walk to the bus stop. I turned around and took a cab to the bus stop

10-15 minutes when the sidewalks aren't crap. On days like today it would have taken me a lottt longer. I didn't want to fall again :happysad:

Sounds like you girls need some grip things to put on your shoes. They are sold just about everywhere, and will keep you from slipping most of the time.

Lawtons, Shoppers, Canadian Tire, any shoe store, basically every store sells 'em too. I saw a huge display at lawton's yesterday.

I have the Canadian Tire ones....they have studs, and were $9.99.

We bought a bunch from Marks before xmas. THey were $19, and they forgot to exclude them on the $10 off cards that you could print out from their website. So a whopping $9 per pair.
