Its a Smart Four Two. 40 hp of rip roarin power! Price: $16k. WTF? There's a Cabrio version coming later for $20k! They'll be for sale at Isenor (Mercedes) motors in Halifax sometime next month.

Just out of curiosity I checked toyota.ca. A fully loaded Echo Hatch RS with all the blingity bling MSRPs at $16,400. That gets you 108hp/104ftlbs (Not a lot, but still 2.5 as much as the Smart) and 44mpg city, 54mpg highway, nothing to spit at by far. Plus it seats 4, has ABS, is probably a hell of a lot cheaper to fix than anything Merecedes makes... I just can't figure out who the hell they thing is going to buy the stupid things.

Now if they were $10k then they'd be interesting.

hehe those things are awesome! when I was in Poland last March they were everywhere, I got a picture of one in the roundabout outside my apartment window that had the funky paint going on and everything (I'll post pic when I get home)... If they weren't so expensive I'd want one!

I was watching a show on Speed last week and they were at some kind of race that was just for those cars. There were a couple there that had removable roofs and hatches and even a diffewrent windshield that was maybe a quarter of the size of the original one. They looked kinda cool actually.

Pretty funky looking, don't think I'd rock one myself though.... Wonder how they hold up in an accident?

They hold up reasonably well, stop equating size with safety.

Well considering crash tets are done at 30MPH and they hold up 'reasonably well', I'd like to see the results of the ever popular head on with an SUV at 65mph test :o

The simple fact that it probably onyl weighs 1500lbs is enough for me to not want to share the road with anyone else. Where exactly is the crumple zone on that? You'd be DOA in a head on in that thing....

Not really if you think about it, At least you have the chance to jump off or fall off a bike. If your in that its possible you could get trapped in it, crushed, or traped inside and burn to death. I would much rather be on a bike thanks.

not for that price .. and cars like that are made for the city's where 35mph crashs are all that happens..

I don't think you would/could take that thing on a road trip.

It's a city car, dude.. I don't picture doing 65mph at all, much less head-on into an SUV.

Far as I know, all of the nonhighway roads around here top out about 45mph...

Yeah some areas around halifax have 45 mph to 60 mph zones that people take on daily basis. Am with steve on this one that am sure these things would get punted around in an accident as there doesn't look to be much in the way of impact protection.
