There was a guy absolutely tripping balls in front of the Key Center, looked possessed. I noticed how many homeless there was, it is like Vancouver, people being pushed out of their residences due to price.

It's insane - this article crossed my newsfeed this morning: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattl...seattles-sodo-district-from-sleepy-to-creepy/

Just looking at the pictures alone is heartbreaking. I don't live near the area they talk about in this article, but there are sections of the city closer to me that look pretty similar. I specifically live in an area of the city called Ballard, the southernmost part of which is more industrial and is also covered with both RV's and tent encampments. My commute to work on my bike goes through a bunch of areas that are just packed in with folks. As the article states, the garbage is a huge problem - there is one section of the trail I bike to work that I keep calling the city about as there is a tent encampment with about 8 tents on it on a small patch of land that has garbage overflowing onto the trail making it pretty dangerous to bike by. I no longer bike through that area if I have to go by at night. It's sad because it is a mix of some people just down on their luck and they're not causing problems, but then there are a ton of drug addicts and folks with mental health issues not getting help who are causing crime to shoot up all over the place.

Microsoft just announced $500 million towards helping out - hopefully, some of the other tech giants will follow suit and some real action can take place. It's only partly an issue of housing, IMO. I also feel guilty because I'm one of the high paid high tech workers who moved here.

    lol

I'm super anal about picking up dog crap in my yard. I keep it spotless. At some point a dog shit in my yard and it's been frozen under a crystal clear layer of ice for weeks. I know it's there and it's haunting me

So, when did all of the separate forums disappear? I've gotta admit, it's been a while since I've checked in here lol.

    71km/h - fortunately - https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=INOVASCO53#history

When the wind gets high around me it tends to blow over me, fortunately. I'm in a bit of a hollow. I hope to put up a 40 ft tower to get an antenna above the tree line this coming summer (for internet faster than 5mbps.... ) and I may look at either putting another station up there or trying to do something similar.

We haven't had much for snow here yet. There's just a few small ice patches around. The last two days could have passed for early spring.. such a tease

Not really. If we have to suffer through winter, at least let us have some snow

Just booked my next work trip - first time headed to India. Should be interesting. Actually, a busy next few months with work travel - San Francisco, Orlando, India, Vegas.

Went lap swimming tonight for the first time in at least 3 years. My arms are dead. That was on top of a run at lunch that included some of the steepest hills in Seattle so my legs were already done (on top of my bike commute to and from work). Should sleep well tonight!
