As bad as it sounds, I haven't had any wild game before... and my dad used to be an avid hunter. I think seeing deer hanging in the shed as a boy scarred me lol
It wouldn't be a bad idea for you to try the farmed stuff first. That way you'll at least get a hint of what actual wild game tastes like. Wild game also largely depends on the diet of the animal. For instance the deer out here that I hunt are largely prairie deer. Much tastier than "bush deer". Grain fed vs forest fed....
