I'm thinking it is because gay marriage is legal there.
isn't HGTV a canadian channel?
Most of us still own our property
Is it? Who is the parent company?
So do we.
Cool. Maybe the US foreclosure numbers have mislead me.
The original HGTV is an american station owned by Scripps Networks Interactive. HGTV Canada was formed later as a joint venture between CW Media and Scripps.
Its a pretty fucking sad world when just because someone likes their house and gardening they are presumed to be gay.
If I had time i'd maintain my gardens.
I spend tonnes of time and money each year on/in the gardens. Will spend A LOT more this year. Something soothing about working around in the gardens.
Or maybe speaking for an entire country vs. speaking for yourself is proving difficult? I represent myself and my family with my words.
the gf is addicted to HGTV.
Yeah, they are probably also a pedophile.
I mean, I thought RC was all about stereotypes as a lifestyle? Assimilate into your surroundings, yo!
So is mine.
HGTV in the US is the parent but they get governmet grants to produce shows in Canada so why wouldn't they
I'm not wondering why they wouldn't, I'm wondering why they ARE. So I guess the grants are the reason...
I was responding to the question about HGTV, had really nothing to do with me or my family. So yeah, I was speaking in terms of the country. Your foreclosure rate > our foreclosure rate. More % of people here seem to have money to invest in their properties during this lovely recession, so it makes sense HGTV would base a lot of shows out of Canada.
I could be wrong but it's my response and I am sticking to it.
also they have to x hours of Canadian content so why not use it in the US
we are rather civilized up here
The difference in home ownership rates between Canada and the US is 2%, which any mathematician can tell you could easily be chalked up to a statistical anomaly. Pedestal pushing avoided. Refocus your attack or move on plz.
I choose to move on simply for the fact I don't actually care who's right, it was my response to a question and I am over it. Nothing changes the fact that US or Canada (or International) based shows on HGTV are the shizzle, my favourite channel.
Word to that!
