Any reccomendations on a shop to get a front end alignment done?
Apart from who i would normally reccomend (He's in st margarets bay) Ive personally used Major Discount on Portland St, or the Shell on Robie with no issues.
As a follow up, how much does it cost? The place down the street quoted me at 70 (giving me a 'deal' since he does work for the fleet) but I'm not sure if that is still gouging my wallet. Tried calling CT but have been on hold for 10 mins, and got a busy signal at another place.
First: Hang up from Canadian Tire.
Second most reputable Tire shops will do a fine alignment. Scotia, Miller, Good Year on Young etc. Dealerships do them as well. Do you need a 4 wheel or 2 Wheel? For the average Joe a tire alignment isn't brain surgery. Their computer tells them the settings they need to use, and they turn parts on the car until it matches those and unless you've done some major damage to your car, that's all there is to it. $70 seems like a normal price, definitely not exorbitant. If he does work on the fleet I'd say go there. I usually just take my cars to Scotia Tire on Robie or Wyse Road.
I just wanted to check the pricing at CT to see how far off it was.. I would prefer NOT to go there if it was close to the other place.
Be prepared for the "you need this, this, and this before we can do an alignment" pitch at CT.
It could be free and I still wouldn't let CT touch my vehicle
CT tried to charge my father $1100 to change a headlight bulb.
Told him they needed to remove the entire front bumper. He asked why it only took them 5min.
I do my own alignments with a wrench and a measuring tape lol.
