I still don't have it totally dug out yet! Waiting for the snow to melt around it. I'm thinking close to the end of april at the soonest. I'm starting to acquire my parts now but I'm going to be away for the next two weekends, then its gonna be full out till she's ready!
Speedsport will be when the car comes out for good. But it will go back away if we get any bit of snow.
mine is coming out friday, month earlier than what i wanted but someone is buying the tempo so one month shouldn't hurt and considering i'm not gonna store it anymore the early month makes little diff.
If I owned a brand new car i wouldn't store it either. Giving up six months of driving time in a nice car so you can cruise in your tempo doesn't seem worth the thou or so you might get back when you sell it. But seeing as my car is pretty old and I don't see replacing it anytime soon, I have to make it last
probably April 1st maybe a bit sooner if weather permits. One thing I notice is some horrible potholes this year I'm gonna have to really watch the roads this spring.
Mines been in and out while im working the bugs out of it for the last two weeks.. Today i put it back to bed tho, pulled my engine and tranny out and got it ready for the new snail.... im doing a few internal upgrades as well as changing my timing belt, a bit of porting, etc. mostly I just wanted to pull it out and make sure everything was cool, (tolerances, etc) I needed a new clutch anyhow, and it was time for the first oil change, so i decided to dig in a bit. Ill be rollin it into the paint shop once the snow and salt is gone for good, so im not too worried about a little winter driving.
thats why i'm pulling it out, paying car payments and looking at it in the garage burns my ass, I won't keep the car any more than 5 years anyways probally and it won't rust in that time so why not?
It never went away. Well, except for that whole new transmission thing, but I just drove the GSR when that was being done or the loaner BMW. It's nice having good weather year 'round.
Pat where was it you did your famous "ice slide" vid in the Teg? was that in Texas? ?? The GSR fucking LOVES these cool nights though.. Diggity damn!! It's been too long
Yeah that was in Austin, Texas. We get like one day every other year of ice. Not snow, mind, but ice... and I made a vid going about 8mph on top of a 5 story parking garage with no barricades to keep me falling off... which people make fun of, but fail to mention the actual danger involved or come up with something better of thier own. Want another one?
DJQ you should have bought some snow tires and rode that bish all winter! No need to make yourself suffer for no reason!
I've been riding on steelies all winter baby!! But the rimmies come back on when the salt is gone and it's not so cold that my t1-s's turn into stone!
I'm putting my summer tires back on as soon as I can make an appointment. We haven't had snow in a couple weeks; yesterday was 16 degrees!
You guys out east have really been getting bent over and raped by mother nature this past year or so... Out here, we haven't had nearly as much snow compared to last year... and aside from only one week of -30 temperatures, it's been really mild. We'll still have a big dump of snow in April though. And probably another in May. btw, our week long forcast looks like this: 13, 7, 11, 9, 2, 7, 9
that is so different then when i was there, In november it was -28 before the windchill and here was like +13, now the roles are reversed except we are like +2 wooo
