Well he's here! Lots of people think he will get sniped, some say he will change the World, some say he's just a puppet! Will Obama be the man in 2009? whacha all think ?
1. Obama will gain even more popularity by appearing to be making "change" and he will perform flawlessly in an upcoming disaster relief effort. People will love him even more than they already do. He will be "god-like" to some. 2. When the world is faced with a major financial/war crisis (well, when the current financial/war crisis gets worse), he will appear before the masses of the world and suggest/implement a "plan" to save everyone's jobs, fix the financial crisis all at once and help end war (that plan being One World Government/one money - IDchips in our hands, etc.). People will listen to him because he is a "wonderful orator", is handsome and recently gained god-like status.....and people are generally pretty stupid, do what they are told and have no real clue what is going on in the world outside of Anderson Cooper, Perez Hilton, TMZ and Oprah. 3. The real "God" (be it a dude with long gray hair, an alien or maybe a scientist from the past or some shit like that) then shows up because the Bible sez the "Lord" returns when the people are presented a false prophet and follow him (Obama). 4. "God" returns - fire and death over the Holy land; everyone with the "mark of the beast" (the IDchips) is killed (also in the Bible) for being a sucker. Obama and Bush team up against God and Buddha in a cage match for the ages. Earth ends up the winner or loser, we don't know yet. Stay tuned.....should all be going down 'round 2012. OR.... Obama is just another hand-picked, franchise President who will inevitably end up doing more harm than good, but not really make any major change during his term - like most US Presidents. It's one or the other.....

Agreed. Agreed. I, too, fear this. Truth. This is probably closest to my actual beliefs. While I fully believe he is likely a really great person, and has really awesome intentions, even the president of the U.S. can only do so much, and I believe a lot of people are going to be disappointed no matter what he does do -- because they expect him to be Jesus. Which is unfortunate, because I think he will make a lot of great changes that will be undervalued because he wasn't able to live up to peoples' unrealistic expectations.

There is a lot of retardation on this site. I think Obama is a smart leader who is trying to do the right thing and make some serious change. He most likely won't succeed, because he still needs old style slow moving politicians to get beyond their fears and pass bills like the stimulus bill. The whole system needs to change, not just one man. Hopefully he'll get the ball rolling though.
I think he is a good president who was definatley elected because of the numerous achievements he reached during his long and prosperous career as a senator, and not because he is handsome and has good mannerisms.
You know what. He has created a feeling of optimism among the US population that has not been seen for a while. Its hard to say what will happen down the road, but he has people in a better mood already and that's the first necessity to propagate change.
All presidents have some evil in them, they get where they are because they have done things to get themselves in that position, not always good stuff. Regardless, I think he is the man to change the country, but I do see him getting killed, and not so much because he is black, but because he is reforming a lot of bullshit in the united states that rich people tend to take for granted. Don't piss off the people paying your bills because they have certain powers as well. It is pretty bad though that too change a country for good, you have to ruffle a few feathers, enough so that they might but a hit on for you. Bush was a terrible president, but he made those rich people richer, and manipulated a lot of shit to make sure this continued, hence why no one killed his ass.
Didn't Obama hire some top lobbyists to head up the deputy secretary of defense, after having a conference about anti-lobbying.. I don't know the whole story buts it's sounds contradicting. I think he'll be an impressive liar the entire term.
Obama is just a figure head of his advisors. he won't go aganist what they say he won't do enough to ruffle feathers and he won't do anything that truly helps anyone. it's the same as any other democratic elected politician, there goal isn't to help out the people, lead anything or try to boost our economy. Its for them to get reelected and live out their term and retire with a nice comfy 6 figure income(just like every other red blooded american) they want to do things that get them great popularity but cost nothing, ...just follow Canadian politics.
He's made it evident his first priority is to come to truths with the Muslim religion and cure the hatred for Americans in the Arab world. I just see him as a figure head also. His lack of experience in office and his record of obtaining from voting on anything in senate worries me. Great speaker though.
