Hope you're staying safe billybobbillybob KMDKMD - looks like BC is harder hit than Washington, though there is lots of mess here as well.

Doing fine up here we are up on the Northern part of the Fraser River and on high ground but the lower mainland is a mess. I am just in awe of the destruction that is happening down there.
I am also wondering if these people are realizing if developing towns on flood plains is such a good idea.

The rain has just been non-stop for what feels like a week now with just a few breaks. Add in the winds today for more fun on top of it all.

Vancouver is okay HairyAssHairyAss , it's just cut off from the rest of Canada so it might be a good time to visit.
Most of the flooding is out in the farming area around Abbotsford/ Chilliwack and further out in the canyon on the Coquihalla Hwy.
This is showing that infrastructure needs to be maintained and updated in this Country.
Cities have been relying on the same drains and sewers that have been in place for hundreds of years the government has been saying they have been giving billions to upgrade infrastructure and we never see were this goes I sure it's in a project some where.... :hsugh: Our roads across the country are SHIT, we are a G7(I think) country with third world country roads. I don't know how BootsBoots drives his Miata around without smashing the shit out of the bottom of it.

I was wondering if there was a good article on Sumas Lake my brother in law lives in Chillawack. He is a retired dairy farmer he likes to take me on drives around the Fraser Valley he told me about this before and it always baffled me that nothing has happened and this flooding isn't even what would happen if this lake was ever to reclaim it's spot.

I'm not saying I disagree with you but there is an *and* to old infrastructure in what we saw happen in BC this past week and that's the tie back to what happened this summer in BC with the wildfires. Dead trees/no ground cover + record breaking rain == perfect mudslide/flooding conditions regardless of the state of the roads & sewers to start with.

Fuck No, but I do know there is way too much waste in our governments at all levels and it needs to be reined in because people are not going to be able to afford to live the way things are going.
    I vote I can Bitch :finger4:

Are you the man/woman/person to fix it?

Not likely. I also vote, just your statement reminds me of my old man who says all the same shit in the same tone, but will never vote because he declares it a waste of time.

A lot of pers have deployed to the area to support Op Lentus. Based on the scale I wouldn't doubt if they reached out across the country for volunteers. In my Log training we did a lot of work on Admin Order for flood relief, I wouldn't want to be leading the admin support on this one:eek3:. Floods and fire, not Justin Beiber and Trudeau are our countries biggest threats.

They are saying months for the coquihalla highway to be open. This is going to be crazy there are bridges, dozens, that have been completely blown out of rivers and canyons now I know they will be using bailey bridges and doing some heavy excavation. I wonder how they get all the environmental permits done so quickly?

This was just on our local radio - I only mention because I almost reached through the radio to punch the announcer for her pronunciation of Abbotsford.

Woke up this morning to pissing down rain up here, that's just adding to what going to hit them going down the Fraser plus all the snow it just melted.
It's minor to what they are getting but they don't need any more.

I am going to be heading out towards the coast here in shortly so I hope it clears up but I just might wait for the next clear spell and make a run for it. :bolt:

Jesus, the extreme weather continues. Washington is in another massive weather pattern of rain and snow. Seattle is now almost cut off by land - you can head north to BC if you have a negative PCR test, I guess?

    - there is so much snow falling in the mountains, they're measuring it in feet, not inches. There are 4 mountain passes - all 4 are closed - crews can't safely work to clear the snow because of avalanche danger.
    - lower down, there is so much rain, it's flooding. The major highway south of Seattle is closed for a 20 mile stretch now because of flooding.

Crazy. On the plus side, skiing is going to be amazing once the pass is open again!

It's finally warming up here, I might be able to get out of my cave without my skin freezing off in 5 min.
-22 right now and going up to -14 tomorrow and then by Monday it will be 0, I am going to have to break the shorts out. The dog is going to hate it she is loving the cold and the fluffy snow.

Record breaking heat, Forest fires, epic rains, flooding, highway washouts, record breaking cold and now record breaking snowfall. In the span of 6 months. Anyone got any land for sale in NS for me?
