What would you quantify as foreign, do you have a house you are looking to sell, or live in house you want to continue to rent that needs to be sold?

Exchange rate on USD is better than CDN.

Interesting approach, there is a lot of tax implications for foreign investors, and Dartmouth is not exactly a destination hot spot. I would be looking locally for investors, or speak to property management companies who might be looking to take on more assets, or can pass the information on the property up the line.

You could try air b&b to recoup some of your costs if it is vacant.

Are you having trouble selling your property with a realtor? I don't think foreign investors are your solution if you can't sell your home on the market.

In my opinion any foreign investor worth taking seriously is already in contact with local realtors, who obviously have access to the MLS and classified ad services.

Why don't you find a realtor that has experience dealing with foreigners? Put an ad out there asking exactly that, ask how many sales they've done when they reply, and make your decision accordingly.

Hell, cut them right out of the deal when you ask them what foreign websites to use and make the posts yourself.

I cant speak for other banks, but I know the bank I review financing for wont finance a non-owner occupied residence to a non-resident of Canada. The home needs to be owner occupied for us to finance it. Given that is an OFSI requirement I'd venture to say all chartered banks would be held to the same standards.

Kijiji would be a good place to start. Lots of African royalty looking to diversify.

Are you hoping to make more money from a currency conversion (transactions take place in the local currency anyway and a half wise investor wouldn't pay over market) or hoping to entice a buyer who might buy it with the hopes of flipping down the road when our dollar strengthens?

I don't, I live on the other side of the country, just giving some suggestions if you have had no luck selling on MLS.
