Have you heard anything about Cricket protein or looked into using it?

I read that 3.5 ounces of Cricket has the same protein as two eggs??

Cricket protein powder generally contains 3 other proteins (pea, soy and hemp) boost its % and aide digestion. On their own digestibility is fairly low in comparison to eggs so you would probably need to eat quite a lot of raw crickets.

Eating crickets is just as hipster as avocado toast.

???? There is no added sugar in those. They do use ascorbic acid to delay the product going bad - pretty much like every fruit you buy in the grocery store.

I think they are usually flash frozen at peak, acid added and packaged.

I have often wondered if they are more or less processed vs unfrozen fruits/veggies you buy in the produce section......like, do they still have all the shit sprayed on them that is sprayed/injected on/in to unfrozen stuff? I mean, if they don't have to sit on a shelf to rot and are frozen, do they still have the stuff the non-frozen produce has?

I know they use a ton of shit on what we buy in the produce section. Growth retardants, metabolic inhibitors, fungicide, coloring, etc. Greenhouse products are grown in an ethylene gas environment (robbing the produce of nutrients), etc.

It's such a shit show - unless you grow it yourself, it's probably pretty processed. :(

This is true.....not as fresh tasting. Good for smoothies though.

I learned one thing last night about making smoothies.....if you add too much milk, it blends the milk almost into a cream. I usually only put like 250ml of skim milk as my base and last night the jug slipped and I musta put at least 500-700 ml. Blended that bitch for a while and it still came out thick like a McD's milkshake......and it was "separated" or something - like there was the normal smoothie, with a big glob sitting on top.
