Ya Ched - I bet on the wrong pony. Should have known, seeing as I was preaching a police state/civil war/Martial Law . Can't get them all right. :)

On a side note.....how come when Big Joe says pretty much exactly what I said, he goes viral and gets a round of applause? At 4:20, he starts with the Martial Law thing (and, ironically, tells people to "open their eyes"). Can you not see that other people are "getting it"???

She should consider herself lucky. Won't belong before he starts sending them to the firing squad.

I haven't read the article yet, but did click on the link and take a look at the author of the article. He happens to be a well respected journalist with a bunch of awards for his writing under his belt.

Thanks for your progressional insight into what makes good journalism though.

HuffPost is a little left leaning, but this was well done.

For a day. Maybe a week. Possibly a month. And then, like the Brits, who wanted to send a message, so they voted to leave Europe, only to find out that if you vote to leave Europe, you actually have to leave Europe.

And now they regret it. All the Ohioans, Pennsylvanians, Michiganders and Wisconsinites - of Middle England, right? They all voted to leave and now they regret it and over four million of them have signed a petition to have a do-over.

They want another election. It ain't gonna happen. Because you used the ballot as an anger management tool. And now you're fucked. And the rest of Europe, the rest of Europe, they're like, 'Bye Felicia.'

So when the rightfully angry people of Ohio and Michigan and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin find out after a few months in office that President Trump wasn't going to do a damn thing for them, it'll be too late to do anything about it.

But I get it. You wanted to send a message. You had righteous anger and justifiable anger. Well, message sent. Goodnight America. You just elected the last President of the United States.

    --

He was right about the regret. I'm sure it's a matter of time before the rightfully angry people find out after a few months that he isn't going to do a damn thing for them. And unless he's impeached he's going to be the last President.

Do you actually think the entire US is going to fall apart over this?

Well, within his first 10 days in power he plunged the country into a constitutional crisis. I can't imagine what it's going to be like in 4 weeks, much less 4 years.

The US has faced constitutional crisis in recent history without collapse.

Bush vs Gore as well. But yes, this is going to be a big challenge for the people of the USA. I can't wrap my head around all the hate though - so much rhetoric. Is it simply that with the Internet we gave everyone a platform, but instead of rational discourse, we're all just screaming into our monitors?

    Anyhow, I'm rambling.

California and other states, even prior to the election, started rumbling about separating from the country. Given Trump's recent slew of executive orders, it's only going to get worse. The state of Washington is suing him over some of his mandates.

I would hope he gets impeached before anything more drastic happens, but at his current clip, things will only get worse, not better.

It would send a helluva message but it'll never happen. 1.5 million brits petitioned to have Trump banned from their country and it was debated for a few hours in parliament. Even though the debate was overwhelmingly in favour of Trump killing himself, the PM basically ignored it and is welcoming him for a visit.

Poor Trump is shitting his pants at the judge over-turning his travel ban.

Trump is shitting his pants over an order that makes no sense, banning people from countries that have never killed Americans on American soil. In other news, the House just repealed a law Obama put in place that restricts gun sales to those with mental illness. How many mass shootings in the US were the result of someone with a mental illness having easy access to a gun?

At least it's kind of fun watching Donald whine like a baby about the judge who overturned his order - a judge appointed by Bush.

It's also amazing how poorly the US is being perceived around the world now outside of Russia (where they just made it legal to beat your wife). I've said it before but the way the leader of a country behaves and treats people goes a long way to that country doing well overall in the world. Those who complain about Trudeau - I can tell you first hand as I live in the US and work for a company where I'm daily talking with colleagues and customers around the world - Trudeau has put Canada back on a list of countries to be admired again. Yes, he needs to be called to task for backing down on electoral reform, but everyone I talk to knows who Harper was and talks poorly of his perception but rave about Canada under Trudeau.
