I got no experience with them.

Wife wanted to buy a side by side full fridge/freezer combo but I put my foot down...at least for a few years.

Has that phrase been added to the international book of things you can't say anymore?

It sounds like something Archie Bunker would have said.

Is your issue because he was dealing with his wife when he put his foot down? It goes both ways. She's put her foot down too lol

I'm still rocking a chest one, but the folks have had a stand up for a few years and love it. Much easier trying to find things rather than the dreaded dig to the bottom

Factor in power consumption vs convienience into your purchase. A chest freezer costs pennies a month.

Apologies. The way you worded it originally had a definite ... tone to it. At least you didn’t say “the wife”.

I say the wife... I say put my foot down. But she puts her foot down more than I do. Don't mean those things in a derogatory or....sexist.... Way at all? :shrug2: Hell, when I'm referring to one of my sons, I say "the boy". Are we really getting that fucking sensitive now??

My wife is definitely the one in charge of our household. And I'm fine with that. If she didn't "put her foot down" as much as she has, every room would have a trophy head in it, a big screen TV, the walls would be painted flannel pattern and I'd have two jeeps, a pick up, a side by side, two atvs and a fucking dirt bike!

I mean gawd Hairyass, wasn't it enough for you that we let them vote!!!!

I cringe when I see or read “the wife”. I believe that’s been discussed on here before.

we have an upright - it has served us well. I *think* we bought it at Sears - it’s about 15 years old at this point. Definitely go frost free if you can - having to thaw it out is about the only downside.

As for deals - dunno, check the regular spots ... or support a small business. By brother in law owns and runs an appliance store up in Truro and COVID definitely took its toll.

There is a shortage of fridges, freezers, etc right now...people must be hoarding with the toilet paper.

manufacturing actually. think of all the assembly factories that went minimum manning or shut down all together during COVID. nobody is hoarding appliances. Its the same across the board for all appliances. We ordered a dishwasher 3 weeks ago and it still wont be here for another month.
