damn.... faster then a monster miata
i hate miatas, but this one has my repect
I would love to have a Miata with a 302 in it!! Let alone that! lol
what corvette motor is in that? is that an ls1 lt1 other?
Meh, still a chicks car. I'll take that motor in it's original surrounding, thanks.
You're daft, that isn't a chick's car in the least. Miatas are great-handling sports cars regardless of the petty image problems they have with homophobes. I'd rock that senseless.
But what makes them the best handeling (well part of it) was the 50/50 weight dist. which clearly, isnt working anymore.
Miata's are amazing handling cars, the wight distribution and centre of gravity is wicked.
whoever thought of of putting that engine in a miata is sick sick sick
and that sick person also has my respect
must be soooo much fun to smoke some "musclecar" with a miata and see that oh so puzzled look on their faces
Its not gonna handle that great with the weight distrubation all fucked up like that..........it will go like fuck straight but wont like the turns, which a miata is good for.........
what do you think the weight difference is in the motors?
since im not exactly a mazda/chev knowlageable guy, i wouldent know for sure, but im assuming they sure as fuck are not near the same.
It's not all that much of a difference if I remember properly... the LS1 is a very light motor and the lump that comes in the Miata is very heavy, plus the longitudinally-mounted inline 4 takes about as much space as the longitudinally mounted V8 so it's still sitting just as far back in the chassis (an integral part of weight distribution) not to mention lower (thus helping the centre of gravity). Couple that with the beefier rear end (heavier) also helping to redistribute the weight and you're not all that far off from the original 50/50 figure.
I stand corrected.
Right, plus now it's bloody fast!
i want a boosted 302 miata so bad it makes my loins ache. that car is sick
F a 302, go for an LS1
Besides, wouldn't you rather have an E30 BMW with an LS1? I know I would.
So i'm daft because my opinion differs from you on which car's I like and why I don't like them? I simply said I don't care for it, due to it's chick's car image that miata's have. I don't like the look of them in the least, you can't knock me for that just because you think otherwise. I never have been a fan of Miata's, so no matter what powerplant is squeezed into them, I could care less. Like I said before, I'll take that powerplant in the original structure of a car that, that motor came in, the vette!
Clearly the only daft one is whoever spells ultimate with a "n"
The ls1 block is aluminum along with most of the motor, I would imagine its only a 150-250lbs heavier than the miata engine.
hrm... would like other shots....
Precisely, and since it sits lower than the I4 and the beefier rear transaxle is hangin' back there it will balance out...
pun, you should fix your spelling error on the title.
sweet, i would drive it.
LS1 in a miata
Thats a pretty crazy swap...someone has some imagination for sure!!
Sounds about right, it would definitly add a few pounds but nothing that would throw the car totally out of balance. I would be interested to see how it would stack up against a z06. The weight advantage might be overcome by the vettes superior design.
No, someone has money and ingenuity.
I agree with Eisener on this one, my viewpoints of a Miata are ruined. They're a chicks car, nothing more, nothing less. Someone just wasted a nice vette motor, better a chev motor than something half decent though.
I find the Miata's to be rip offs from Dodge, and especially the newer ones, they look like mini Vipers.
I don't quite understand what you're trying to say here? Typo perhaps?
Yeah. . . I just changed that Chris, thanks for pointing it out, bud. I wasn't reeeeeally focusing on what I was typing, too busy thinking bout how much trouble it is viewing this forum now that I gotta ignore every second post for some odd reason.
Yeah, those Ls1s are real junk.
