wow thats lucky
whoa! almost went off the edge too.
very lucky guy who was running from the vehicle!
they'll be needing a change of underwear at the next checkpoint
Wasn't Colin Mcrae driving one of those for bmw?
wonder how front end parts held up
Wow that was some pretty good driving there on his part as well...
I would attribute it more to the stability programme as well as the x-drive AWD system. Note how the vehicle reacts, and how the wheels that aren't in contact with anything act.
how the hell did that thing not flip over. And buddy running must've shit his pants indeed
DSC-II and X-Drive is how it didn't flip over. A testament to BMW's engineering prowess! That damn thing was nearly scraping it's doorhandles on the terrain!
You can see that he turns into the roll each time, bringing it down. Crazy recovery!
If you think simple countersteering is going to recover a car like that, you're an idiot.
your right, that was a shit load of luck!
Yes, the AWD system brought the car down... not the driver...
No, a combination of the terrain, tires, driver, X-Drive, and DSC brought the car back 'round.
If you don't believe it, I urge you to try it in ANY vehicle without those driver's aids. Do you seriously think a RWD vehicle could have righted itself like that, or that any vehicle could have done that without those sophisticated electronics?
HINT: This is a showcase of BMW's technologically advanced driver aids, not of thier drivers. That should help.
