Looks great, I hope it lives up to expectations. If so, might pick one up.
I kind of want one. Maybe it would offset for the carbon footprint of everything else I own.
They have some definite nerd appeal.
Very nice! Definitely intrigued by them. That Gigafactory is insane!
Wayne must have already ordered his?
They look great
Nope, but once the wife is finally working full-time, it might make sense. Might not though. I enjoy one car payment now and I need a vehicle that tows.
What's the Canadian sticker price?
Don't think there is an official Canadian price. That price is exclusive of any discounts / incentives / rebates so could be cheaper over time.
Where do you get it serviced?
No engine, no oil or gas, regenerative braking, etc They don't need any servicing!
But realistically, they have 200+ service centers and plan to double that in the next year or so.
There is no way in hell there aren't any wear parts on it.
There's a dealership a couple blocks from where I work. The cars need service just like any other hybrid/electric/gas car, and you'll have to take it to a stealership.
The price in CDN won't be a direct conversion price from USD. It never, ever is. I'd estimate a $50k CDN price tag (before you hit up the options list, before tax, before dealer/government incentives).
They have a Ranger service that will come get the car on a flatbed, take it to a service centre and return it. No idea of the range of that though.
I sell electric MHE and it needs servicing. The main reason I haven't looked more into the Tesla is there is not a servicing dealer in the province yet. I mall kiosk doesn't cut it for me.
I'd be interested in something like this for the wife if it was in the 25-30k range. 50k+ is still too high IMO.
They've pre-sold over 250k of them in a couple days, I would say its priced fine. In the US there is more discounts and rebates, a lot of people can get that for high-20s in 'Murica. Even if a % of those pre-sales pan out they did amazing.
It is priced fine for the US, problem is people don't necessarily see the value at $50k for Canada.
I'am guessing they will be 40-50k
Go to Chinook, you guys have the little Kiosk.
Tesla under delivered vehicles in Q1 2016 with a delivery of 14,800ish vehicles actually delivered.
They had issues with parts deliveries and want to deliver the 300k+ preorders of the Model 3. Do they have massive factories all over the world empty, waiting for production to start?
These aren't iPhones. It just seems like people will be waiting close half a decade for their electric car they put a deposit on this week.
Hopefully they come up with something!
French minister offers shuttered nuclear plant site for Tesla’s first EU factory, will meet Tesla this month
a friend bought a model x like 3 years ago before they even knew what it would look like and he still hasent taken delivery.
I would think that a number of the preorders are people ordering 1 or more with the anticipation of selling it for more later on
I actually thought about doing this. I am sure there is going to be several people flaking.
Up to 325,000 Model 3 reservations after one week – $14B in “implied future sales”
Tesla also confirms that its ‘increasing its production plans to minimize the wait for Model 3’
With that level of preorders, I'm sure they can ramp up production. Money talks.
Drift0r is a Call of Duty Youtuber I met in L.A. in 2013, he recently bought a Tesla (paid cash - Dat YouTube Monay !!) and made this video of the car driving itself. Crazy !!
Driving while horsehead
Saw a group of these going past the airport today.
Apparently it is these people:
TODAY: Visit the Cunard lot on @My_Waterfront 3-6pm to meet the drivers and the @TeslaMotors electric vehicles racing around the world!
that's pretty neat
Anyone know someone that is driving one of these turds yet?
