    Hey Guys,

I am looking for a good, lower priced receiver for my surround sound that supports HDMI.

My older one only allows HDMI video passthrough and will not play sound via HDMI.

I am looking to hook my PS4 and Media Streamer into the receiver via HDMI and 1 HDMI out to my projector.

    Any suggestions would be awesome.

I've got nothing but praise for my Yamaha gear.

I have 3 at the house. A avr x 3100 denon, a avr 910 denon and a onkyo txnr 807. Both denons are great sounding units. The onkyo has nice features but runs really hot

Pshhh... my receiver is so old that it has 0 support for HDMI. Still works great though if I just composite cable out from the source!

My basement receiver is so old, (how old is it?), that the stereo inputs from the RCA TV source are decoded into Dolby 5.1. (It's a Pioneer unit I got when I divorced back in 94, and even then it was second hand to me via a pawn shop). My main floor one is a Yamaha soundbar with sub because one of my cats likes to eat wires, so no wires near the floor.

Visions also gives a big discount to first responders. Cost +10% I believe it is. Great company.

Didn't know this. I'm assuming all you need is a pay stub/Id?
