The damage is crazy but it's all old news here now, it has run it's course and we are in a salvage operation harvesting the guts and feathers that are left and carrying on with what wasn't hit. The mountain pine beetle started hitting this area back in the late 90's. It was in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park the government wouldn't allow the forestry companies to deal with the outbreak in the park and then it just spread. These beetles have been eating these pine trees since beetles and pine trees have been here so it's just a natural cycle that only fire or really cold winters will stop.

Grew a new appreciation for the forests out here. Didn't realize that fire was so important to the trees lifecycle.

The funny part is when we were up there the guy spent a few minutes showing us the engine room and all the backup systems. I can clearly remember his thick aussie accent saying 'Lots of backups. Nobodies getting stuck on this rock!'

It's always an Aussie in these places. Banff, Jasper, all the big provincial parks have Aussie folks working there.

    ....some kind of conspiracy...

Yep. I asked one of them why there were so many and he said the VISA process is pretty good between Canada and Australia.

Retrofitted projectors into my motorcycle headlight, after fucking up one headlight housing and having to buy a replacement round 2 went a little smoother.

I'll always have a soft spot for those 03-06 Z1k's. Loved my '06. Even with it's clunky gearbox and "unrefined" Kwak feeling.

Only pic of it that I have access to at the moment... :bowdownro

Since you are going to a cruiser could I interest you in one of these?

Hayzeus. I'm normally a "bike is a bike" and an "if you enjoy riding it, I don't care what you ride" type guy, but... Polaris?

Really tho, if you like it, ride the wheels off of it dude. And send me your Z1k.

Something about them. Bullet proof engine, lots of power and I like the looks. I'm not quite into Harley territory yet.

I love the 03-06 Z's hands down my favorite bike, I have no plans on ever selling this thing, the gearbox took a few rides to get used to, I can't count how many times I was trying to shift to 6th and it nit neutral lol

Ruby Beach on the Pacific Coast of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Second visit, but last one was in early spring. Hands down, the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen.
