http://207.44.248.30/~dogsbyte/rcphoto/admin/strange_idle.avi My accord does this every now and then and I have no idea why. Anyone know what could cause this?
My vote goes for the IAC (idle air control) valve same thing happen to me before. its bolted on the back of your intake mani, should look like a little cylinder, take that off, then inside the cylinder there should be a sleeve that screws in and out, screw it back down to the bottum where it should be. should correct your messy idle, providng thats what it is and its the similar setup I had.
my accord does that too sometimes, but doesnt rev that high, and then it will go to like 600 or 500 and then lower and the car will turn off...
Since I'm swapping the motor, I really don't care... i was gonna clean out the IAC, but that involves work. Maybe I'll do it one of these days
could be a few different things... definantly a vacuum leak...... could be blown head gasket.. cracked head, bad intake manifold gasket tps missing a vacuum line hell knows but check the rad and make sure the fluid is the same color as whats supposed to be there... if its fine it's not too serious
