Best day of the year, hands down. I usually take the 18th off work to recuperate, but realized last night that I've got class the night of the 17th. GAY!!! Trying to decide between not going to class, going to class, and heading straight to the pub after, or doing both, and going to class half cut... What's everyone's plans?
If it was a weekend, I'd probably be doing something, but I'm not going to take a day off to get hammered.. might just go for a few drinks after work
might have A drink but if its a work night I prefer to take it easy! mornings are hard enough when you are in good shape
Paddy's sponsors our soccer team. They'd like us to help bus tables on the 17th. We have an indoor game scheduled for 11pm that night. As you can imagine, we're trying to get it rescheduled.
I may possibly have a drink or 2. I even found out a few years back that I'm actually part Irish too My father was adopted and, after 50+ years, he finally found out who his biological mother was. She was American (of Ukrainian descent) who had a one night stand with a drunken Irish dude at a bar. She never knew his name (just that he mentioned he was from Ireland and had an accent), she hid the whole pregnancy from her husband and moved to Ontario with her sister for the last few months to have the child, put it up for adoption and then moved back home. Her family had no idea.
ROFL, Dan, have you ever heard of too much information?? Dana just wanted to know if you were partying
I'm just proud of my new found Irish heritage (and the fact my biological grandma was a bar slouse. Rest her slousey soul.)
On a somewhat related note, does anyone in Calgary know where I can have a kilt taken in an inch or two that's not going to cost me a mint?
i'll be wearing my green baseball tee thats all signed by chicks from past years and getting gooberd at the bar
according to Signal Hill's website they are playing at Dr Sharps roadhouse in Bedford on St Pattys Day. I may go check it out.
A group of us attempted to go there one St. Patty's Day because we wanted to see the band that was playing. People were walking away from the door when we pulled into the parking lot. We soon found out it was because it was the most disorganized, clusterfuck I had ever been to. There were a ton of rules but everyone you spoke to had a different version. Some even had a different rule The kicker for us was they wanted to charge us $15 cover to go in and eat. This was about 3 hours before the band was even due to start playing. We soon followed other people that were walking away from the door. We went to the Oakmount and spent the whole night there.
Or go but have alternate plans in case they are running their St. Patty's Day event like they did a couple years ago
