UFC 257. Who's gonna watch? Thoughts on Mcgregor vs Poirier?

Shouldn't come as a surprise I'm rooting for Mcgregor.

GrifterGrifter - only replying to say, enjoy! Reminds me I need to check the score on the Sens game, though!

Passed on so many good fight cards because if the late start time. Events starting at 11pm don’t jive with me anymore. I likely won’t be watching.

Porier is a different animal since the first time they fought. I think this will be a close one. I’m predicting Porier TKO, strikes, round 4

Dan Hooker vs Michael Chandler will be a good fight too. I’m predicting Hooker by decision

I’m also excited to see Amanda Ribas. Not necessarily to see her fight, I just like to see her :wackit:

Wow, I'm out of touch on UFC. Impressive McGregor is fighting. It's not like he needs to at this point.

I was thinking mcgregor round 3, submission. I've been following him on Instagram and the dude is training HARD.

And yes. I agree with Ribas.

I've handed that guy's whisky company lots of cash over the past year. And I'm not a heavy drinker. Seeing his lifestyle on social media, he's far from hurting for cash!

Enjoy! People beating the shit outta each other doesn't do it for me though, just my opinion of course.

I kind of hate that this is literally all the UFC is now. Just putting together fights. The ranking system means nothing, and it’s just a constant carousel of new champions and most times it’s a “double champ” scenario. The fights have no meaning other than drawing money. It’s kind of lost its competitive edge I think

I actually kind of miss the fighters climbing the ladder. Bellator still has the tournament style title fights once in a while which is fun.

I was checking out write ups of the first 20 or so UFC bouts. Was pretty cool back in the day when they'd do the winner takes all type of set up. Dan Severn and Royce Gracie used to be my idols growing up..

To me, it peaked my interest right around GSP coming up, Chuck, Couture, Forrest, Penn, etc.
