http://www.spcans.ca/news/Press_Releases/20090226.htm February 26, 2009 Halifax, NS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SPCA Investigators Seek Public's Help with Dog Killed by Hanging The Nova Scotia SPCA is asking for the public's help in identifying the person or persons responsible for killing a dog on Starflower Road in Brookside, Nova Scotia. The dog is a large-breed, tan-colored male with black on his snout and is possibly a Mastiff mix. The extension cord is white with a large yellow round three-prong plug and the plug has "#6" written on it in black marker. Click here to view a picture of the deceased dog (warning: disturbing image). Plug "It is just horrible to see a defenseless animal left dead in the snow like that," said Sean Kelly, Chair of the Investigations Committee. "The horrible thing about this act is that the dog was cut down but left with the cord around his neck which shows us that the killers actually watched him die then cut him down - it's simply tragic." Mr. Kelly is encouraging anyone with any information to come forward. "The Nova Scota SPCA is seeking any information the public may have in connection with this act of cruelty including identification of the dog, identification of the organization that the extension cord may belong to in the area, or identification of any persons who may be connected to this crime," said Mr. Kelly, "We take incidents like this very seriously and if the person or persons responsible for this can be identified, we will certainly lay cruelty charges. No animal should have to die like this, it's just heartbreaking." The Nova Scotia SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and investigating animal cruelty in Nova Scotia. The Nova Scotia SPCA is not a government-funded organization and relies almost solely on the generosity of its supporters and donors for the funds required to prevent, investigate and prosecute cruelty cases in Nova Scotia. Media requests and interviews may be directed to media@spcans.ca or by calling 835-4798. A picture of the dog and a picture the plug with the #6 are attached. This makes me want to cry I can't believe anyone could do this...
I hope someone see's it and can identify the dog. Its a sad picture to look at but I looked just in case I could recognize it as one of my Dad's neighbors dog or something. There doesn't seem to be much news wise on this so I thought if I posted it on here it might get a bit more exposure.
I can't understand some ppl. This makes me sick to my stomach. May those people involved burn in hell
Fuck. I was just thinking I would love it if puppy got down and attacked the sick fucks, but he just would have been put down for being vicious then. RIP puppeh. To fuckin hell with the twisted people that do this shit...
When I had some company come in to clean my furnace, they left behind their big-ass extension cord with the light on it......it was also yellow and had a number on the plug area like that one. I assume the number is there because there is more than one extension cord used by the company. The cord that killed that dog looks like it had the plug wired into a thinner wire (that's why one is yellow and one is white maybe?). Maybe the killers work for some company that uses multiple extension cords (which I'm sure there are a lot of)....but if you narrow down the companies in the area the dog was found, it might help.
...i dont get people... ok, so which brookside are we talking here? the one in prospect? or the brookside out towards truro? does anyone know
I read a bit about this today and couldn't stop thinking about it. I felt so outraged and upset. I don't like having a loss of control to do anything over something that makes me so upset and angry.
PS- If I found out who did this, I wouldn't be turning them in for another harsh $5 fine, I'd be running them the fuck over.
