Next weekend is a double weekend at AMP, Solo II on saturday and Solo I on sunday, come on out. Should be fun. DC5 and myself are gonna tag-team Boots old SIR and try and kill it on sunday. I am looking forward to see how it does against my old Z6 Hatch, New car has more power and way better gearing, but softer suspension, alot less rear roll stiffness and more weight, should be interesting. I am gonna guess that they will be close lap time wise.
Can't wait for this weekend. Lookin forward to running the rsx on sat, and the SiR on sunday. It's gonna like pretty pimp with the white kosei's! By the way, what kind of times with r-compounds are you expecting paul? If someone does the raindance that weekend, i will seriously run them down.
I have no idea how quick the car will be with the R's Jon, my old hatch did low 1:22's, but I don't think I will be driving the new car with the level of committment that I did the old one, although I say that now... I would be happy to get close to that #, but I am not shooting for that, the car doesn't rotate as well as the other one, and these cars seem to like being loose going in to be fast, so who knows? It will be a fun day at the track, thats all that matters, and the last one of the year most likely. I am looking forward to driving Colin's CRX on saturday too.
hard to say.....he's more interested in teh straight line right now...car tuned for that....12.9 passes this past weekend.
Tiz not lookin good, I doubt i'll be there with the newly improved car for the last lapping day of the season.
He was talkin' shit on beating someone on here not too long ago, said he ordered tires for it and all... I'd let him speak for himself if I were you.
I would guess around the same. I might be suprized though, in either direction! Might be quicker, might be slower, all depends on how effective the gearing will be, thats the biggest thing between the old one and this one. My old hatch was always out of the power when I didn't want it to be, this one is always in it.
how does the sir compare to your teg joe? I didn't think we'd be pulling off 1:21's, but it was so easy! We'll be running ra-1's as well...
Keep in mind for those that don't read the ARMS board that the event WILL likely be cancelled if it rains on Sunday. It costs too much to insure and get an ambulance out for nobody to show up.
IT'S NOT GONNA RAIN GORD!!! :freakino: Oh, by the way, are you gonna have your camera at the event? I wouldn't mind having some in-car vids!
Pretty fun weekend. Well, the rain today sucked. The SiR worked well, high 1:22's out of the box, messy laps, and not pushing that hard, low 22's would have been possible. car has lots of potential. Lucas made his solo debut on saturday, nice car.
Yea, the rain sucked ass. I decided to take a timed stint in the SiR even though the track had standing water...managed to pull off a 1:31. Lots of thanks to Paul for trusting me to drive his new car, and cleaning up my lines (not that they're the best, but hey, track time is the only improvement) Saturday was a blast....Paul and I were battling it out for FTD. Paul in the underpowered but awesome handling CRX, and I in the well powered but under suspended RSX. I had a cone penalty and a 1:59, and I think Paul's FTD was a clean 1:58.xx. Lucas finally came out, and had a wicked fun time. The video montage will be out in a day or two!
