Define fast, and in what venue (autocross, road course, drag, street etc.)
... and why distinguish "imports?" That's such a late 90s car-scene cliche that needs to die...
What the hell is an "import" anyway? Civics are made in the US, Volkswagens in Mexico etc.
Hell, the Ford Focus is more of an import then the Honda Accord is... (Focus is designed and engineered in Europe where the Accord is 100% North America...)

honda = import because the company originates from japan and its head office is there.

Ford = domestic because its hq is in the usa, doesn't matter where it is built.

That's an extremely over-simplified view... Ford of Europe (for example) was at one point almost totally seperate from Ford NA.. their own vehicle developement, plants etc.....the new Pontiac GTO.. import or domestic? It's a rebadged Holden (GM owned company) designed and built in Australia by GM.. which is it?

The whole concept if import and domestic cars is pretty much obsolete in our global economy...designs, production, parts etc. come from everywhere. Hell, regardless of who's name is on the car, chances are a lot of the parts (seats, carpets, electronics) are coming from other companies entirley...

Does anybody else remember the year when the Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis was nominated for Import Car of the Year in the US?

Depends which vehicle we are talking about.. one of mine puts out close to 100hp at the ground.... mind you, that's through a single wheel and with a whole 600cc's... it'll do. :D
