lol..that's how he wanted it..i tried to talk him out of it, but he insisted...
i am still working on him to let me do the site my way ;)

the second site, the customer was much easier to deal with because she liked my design and didn't want me to change anything...I like customers like that.

huh the first site isn't loading fast..wasn't doing that before..it must be a server issue.

Definately a coder otherwise she wouldn't have used asp.net, good start though.

I would suggest some research into tableless xhtml+css layouts instead of tables.

Not gonna knock you though, its tough to go from coding to design, but you'll get there for sure if you keep working at it. Every project gets better and better.

like youe encouraging words? when your being an asshole and cutting someone down..why don't you try and be constructive instead of being a complete fucking asshole.

i am trying to do something positive with my life...and i am trying to do something i have never done before..so go fuck yourself and your pathetic life..continue being an asshole cause that's the only thing that seems to make you happy.

that's not my issue, those are hosts my clients already had set up, and insisted on using them..so as far as hosting goes, that was their decision not mine.

Calm down - you've been on RC long enough to know to expect the responses you've received in this thread regarding your websites. Constructive or not, the sites need major work before they deserve a huge stamp of approval on them. If you came here looking for gushing praise, you're going to need to produce something at a higher standard.

    My blunt honest opinion:

Site 1: I have no clue what this website is for. Is it art? I dunno. I can't tell - other than a bunch of (blurry) pictures, I have no clue what anything is because there are no written descriptions. I see that I can buy stuff, but would never do so because it is so unprofessionally laid out, with spelling mistakes in the payment descriptions to boot. There are also several HTML/layout mistakes throughout the website - you need to do more QA on your own sites before releasing them as complete.

Site 2: It's a bit better than the first, but again, everything seems blurry - the photos are blurry, and most of the graphic design seems out of focus. The font you used for the header image is almost unreadable - I can't even read the contact email (which should be done with text so I can either copy/paste it or just click on it to send an email). I don't know if you've tested with Safari or not, but if go to the Products page and click on, say, anklets, the popup page is all messed up.

The major point in all of this is that the sites dont really look professional and look a bit dated in the design and layout - like something you would have expected to find 5 years ago. I think you need to spend some time reading and learning about site design and layout - certainly, creating sites is part of that process.. so, use the feedback in this thread (and elsewhere) and build your skills up. Everyone seems to think website design and creation is easy - it's not, and getting it right so your sites are professional/easy to maintain/useful will take time..

    Good luck.

    HairyAss,

Your post is great! I am taking everything you said, and i am going to improve on both sites this week.

I wasn't looking for praise, these are the very fisrt 2 sites I have coded and designed on my own..but to cut down what I did without telling me why like some other posts was rude. Atleast I can take your post and some other ones I got in PMs an improve on my skills...that's what I was looking for when I posted.

Thanks again for your advice :)

Much better than it was, although there's still a lot of empty space at the bottom of the page and I'd suggest changing the title to something other than "Homepage"... maybe the actual name of the company.

On the Surreal page, when I look at it, my browser loads "Homepage" as the page's title... I'd make that title read "Surreal Customs"

Also, the link for the sitemap at the bottom goes to Sitemap.xml, when it should be sitemap.xml (lowercase s).

I know you didn't write the introduction on the Surreal Customs page, but it isn't very professional at all.

Looks good, code looks much cleaner, keep working at it and they'll continue to get better and better.

Navigation doesn't work, never checked to see if it was even marked up or not.

    Anyways, good work, much improved!
