Be banned for life for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs? No second chances. No fines. Just kicked out of their sport for life if they get caught. What do you think?
Fuck no. In the Olympics, world events, yes. But not in Professional sports. Fuck, maybe baseball could get a few more fans if some roid monster stepped up and hit 90 home runs next year.
half season suspension for first offence full season suspension second offence life time third offence
I say no bans look at the MLB report 104 players that is 15% of players and I am willing to bet it premium players
I still am of the frame of mind that in baseball....steroids make you stronger.....they don't give you the ability and coordination to hit a ball. You either can or can't. Steroids probably let you hit the ball 600yrds as opposed to 480....whats the diff...its still a home run on teh flip side...its cheating..plain and simple.
I wouldn't say lifetime....... But harsher punishments yes. 1 month/no pay 4 months/no pay etc for further offences. I love players that are now being busted for steroids aren't getting ANY votes for their respected HOF's. ie. Mark Mcgwire
There was a tape last week between Bonds' Business Manager and trainer stating that Barry was given the same steriods the US olympic team was using that are undetectable.
Major League Baseball would cease to exist if this were the case. Geez, i could have a chance at that point.
It's cheating, and when people are being paid the $$ these guys get - we have to take cheating from these "figureheads" very seriously. I say kick em out of the sport for at least one season (unpaid too) - what else will really ever stop the cheating? - If you get caught cheating at a casino, they kick you out and ban you. - If you get caught cheating on your wife, chances are you are getting the boot. - If you get caught cheating on a test - you fail. When you cheat at something, you should then be excluded from participating in that same something. Nothing will ever seriously happen re steroids/banned substance use in sports - sports make WAY too much money and sports on roids makes even more. It's no coincidence Presidents of baseball, hockey, football and who knows how many other sports just stand there and basically let it happen - and the fact that just about everyone watching knows these players are cheating and that this fact is being sweep under the rug/passed off as "whatever" is disturbing to me.
