    Severe thunderstorm warning for
    Halifax Metro and Halifax County West issued

    At 1:00 PM ADT, meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is capable of producing large hail.

    Communities in the path include: Elmsdale to Waverley moving eastward.

    Take cover, if threatening weather approaches.

    Large hail can damage property and cause injuries. Strong wind gusts and locally heavy rain are also possible.

    In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.

    Environment Canada continues to monitor the situation closely. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-877-815-9900 or send an email to WeatherASPC@ec.gc.ca.

    Risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

    This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

    Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.

    Isolated thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and this evening. Some of these storms could become severe with heavy downpours, hail and damaging winds.

    Oddly enough in Dartmouth we didn't get anything other than a burst of heavy rain and a bit of thunder and lightning in the distance.. pissed!
