Long lines everywhere, might as well go through the self-checkout. I wait in line (to serve myself. soon all human workers will be replaced with machine) with my milk, bread and condoms. You and your children wheel your cart jam packed full of groceries and instead of leaving it to the "professionals" (notice the quotations), you decide that you will scan and bag your own groceries. Why? I'd ALMOST understand if you've used the self-checkout before and you are quite quick with it, but if its CLEARLY one of the first times you've used the fucking thing, why not wait until you have one or two items to buy instead of a buttload of groceries. The women/men supervising the self-checkouts look like they are tired of helping you. You scan and you have to put the item in the bag so it can be weighed? OOOKAAYYYY? You're a retard. Your holding up the line. I need to go home to drink my milk, eat my bread and use my condoms! Come ONNNNN GTFO BITCH
This kills me... I have been in this EXACT situtation screaming the profanitys in my head... some places have the 1-10 items on the self check-outs now...
I refuse to use the self checkouts. I pay for my groceries, why the Hell would i want to scan and bag them myself? if i was gonna get a discount for reducing the amount of employees they pay, so be it, but the store pays people to work, im gonna put them to good use.
I had the joy of using a self checkout yesterday....needed to say it was not a smooth operation. PS. I was not the person in front of you
i really dont care if they pay for them. i want someone else to bag and scan my stuff. the cost of having those people in the store is included in the price of the food.
Overhead is overhead. Doesn't matter if it is a human or a machine. I will use the self checkout if I only have a few items and the line up is shorter (it usually is) as it is convenient.
I'll avoid them if at all possible. If there's one or two in each lineup, I'll take the cashier every time. It's not the speed, it's the fact that I feel I'm saving a job for some high school kid looking for easy work to get his way through school. The more self checkouts there are, the less jobs there are for people need these type of jobs.
Do you also buy full serve gas? My father used to buy only full serve gas to help protect jobs... it didn't work
I do if I go to the Esso on Young/Robie. Diesel there is the same price whether it's full serve or self serve. Just like at grocery stores.
Yeah! The only cashiers I can understand in Fort McMurray are the SS checkouts at Walmart and Extra Foods
