When you're brushing your teeth do you use hot or cold water?

Because hot water seems totally weird to me..

I use warm. It softens the bristles some. But I also use an electric toofbrush.

using warm/hot softens the gums. Add in the brushing and you are aiding the receding gum line. Over time you will expose the majority of your teeth and will need skin graphs.
You leave yourself prone to gum disease and plaque buildup around the root of you teeth causing tooth decay.
You all should use cold water.

I use cold water except when I rinse and then I use warm. I can't brush my teeth when my brush has been run under warm or hot water for some reason. It grosses me out :puke:

First I turn on the hot water and let it run over my toothbrush.. and then I turn on the cold.. put the toothpaste on and brush my teeth. Weird, yes.

Beer works great for me

j/k...definately cold water, although a rinse with warm salty water is great for any abrasions

I use warm water , cold water hurts my teeth.

But I voted hot, since there wasn't an option for warm :happysad:

for those of you who use warm water to soften the bristles, why not just buy a softer brush...?

I typically use cold water but I bought a new paste recently and it's minty flavour is very strong. I noticed long ago that warm water seems to tone down the 'heat' of a paste which not only makes it more tolerable for me but also enables me to brush longer.

With the new paste, I've been using warm water alot more lately.

To those that drink, brush their teeth, cook, or do anything short of shower wash your hands with Hot water, you obviously haven't seen the inside of a hot water tank.

Inside your hot water tank is an anode, which is basically a rod that is designed to break down and rot, so that the tank itself doesn't. This leaves rust chips/flakes/shit in your tank.

I would highly recommend Not using hot water for any sort of cooking/consumption, spend the extra minute and boil the water from cold.
