So I bought this winter car off of Derek (Crash) just before he left for Alberta.

The registration papers has the owners name that had it before him, and him... (he signed it but never registered it)

So instead of scratching his name off and making it look fraudulent.. what should i do when i go to get it registered?

Im gettin it appraised today and goin to access nova scotia tomorrow with the appraisal...

Thanks for saying very good, but it was a question. I guess I just don't get it, why do you need a beater for a $4000 car?

    somethin to do PAT..

i payed 180$ for it and it saves me from driving my good car...

180 is cheaper then 4 new winter tires for the other car and the cost to get it undercoated

sorry, my civic isnt a BMW... ill try harder next time

That's true, 180 IS cheaper than a set of winter tires!

I'm simply asking, please try not to project your insecurities onto me. :)

Nope, for what it's worth I can't see myself getting a winter car for my BMW even if I lived in a climate like yours.

If you can't get the owner who's name is currently on the registration to fill the bill of sale out for you and sign it, then take it to an rcmp station, have them run the vin to ensure that is comes back with a clean title report (Not stolen), they will draw up a report, you hand that in at the registry of motor vehicle and voila, it's registered.

That is probably very true, and likely it isn't good for that nice paint job you have.

Sorry if I sounded like I was being a dick, I've never really lived anywhere with... THAT season! :D

What ever you don't scratch/cross anything out on the registration because it won't be valid then and you will have to get a bunch of paper work signed by the previous owner.

On top of that, having to take the body kit off for the winter would be a bitch also.

just take it in to motor vehicle the way it is, it should be fine. You're saying that the back of the paper was signed by both, him and the previous owner? Shouldn't be a problem to just get it transferred into your name.

Well considering his kit is molded to the body of his car (except his front bumper), it's impossible to remove.

They might possibly want a receipt from the 2nd previous owner as well!

you'd be surprised, just say look, this person sold it to this person, then the second dude didn't ever register it, he drove it for the 30 days he was allowed then signed it over to me. Voila, done.
