Solar and wind technologies are still evolving as engineers and scientists learn more. Think about where they are today vs. 20 years ago. The world needs a clean energy source moving forward and continuing to invest in research for areas other than just continuing to burn fossil fuels is all a positive approach for the future. The discussion of the path forward is not a zero sum game. The idea behind moving vehicles to electric from gas burning is that the energy can eventually all come from cleaner sources. We're not 100% of the way yet but sometimes you need to force things in certain directions for change to happen.

That was a long way of me saying that the meme you posted is stupid.

I think distributed solar is the way to go. Get every new home/building to require panels and keep encouraging retrofits. If you knock off a large chunk of every buildings energy requirements at the building itself, the grid demand goes way down.

Would love to install solar. The trees that shade the southern sky that are NOT in my yard prevent such a thing, unfortunately.

That's because of your methane bullshit content off gassing :blahblah: (hot air)

This is going to be a mess because I am writing it in pieces as I come and go from doing other things....

No the meme was accurate and correct, your woke brain just can't process it:bigup:. When our idiot in charge wants all new vehicles sold by 2030 to be EV's
Everything is evolving except the left's ability to accept that they are not the only people on Dog's blue earth. Solar farms are a menace on the landscape and the ecosystem, having them on homes to reduce your electric bill is fine but have people been able to go "off the grid" with them BootsBoots on a average size home?
I have done quite a bit of work for wind farm projects and while I try to like the idea I hate the look of them on the landscape and that is why I don't like them. That and the fact that whenever I seem to drive by a project they are never spinning even when the wind is blowing, they are weather dependent and even when established in prevailing wind areas they are still not reliable to supply enough power to the country.
Fossil fuels are going to still be needed.
Forcing things too soon does not work and will be a complete failure like the carbon tax forcing up prices of gas to keep people from driving. People still need to drive, public transit is not up to par in all areas or always an option for people. Politicians always pander and cater to the urban southern areas and completely forget the rural north population in any of these "Green Plans" that they have. Who is going to snow and ice covered roof in -40 to clear the snow off their solar panels that are getting 2 to 3 hrs of sun a day?
I have said it before I love the idea of the EV but the cost is too prohibitive for me and most people to own one, most Canadians aren't RC ballers :$$$: Plus any production EV's I have seen hasn't had any of the features I am looking for in a vehicle.

Summary of KMDKMD ‘s post : he doesn’t like clean energy because he has to look at it. He prefers the silent killers like gas because NIMBY where the ugly happens and fuck the environment.

:bowdownro you got me to a T hippie. I just got in from changing my truck's oil over the storm drain. It's so convenient, that way the oil just gets taken way and disappears. Then I throw the filters in the garbage can.
    Then there are these guys
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...be-recycled-so-they-re-piling-up-in-landfills
Sure they are recyclable but they are not doing it they are just burying the turbines in the landfill what was that Hippie?

True. But it's still pretty cool. And takes a ton of skill to execute at that level. God forbid we discover a new form of recreation that *if* handled correctly could be a neat thing for those talented enough to be able to respectfully partake in.

What are everyone's thoughts on this little ditty?
I think it's a long overdue and think the rest of Canada should follow suit.

The whole thing with the church raising over $30 million to fund the Pope's visit shows that they can raise money in a heartbeat when they want to.

    Yet...

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/catholic-dioceses-funding-residential-school-survivors-1.6524231

I'm all for the money making church to pay taxes. Not every individual church makes money, but their parent company certainly does. Can't pay your taxes? Close the store, sell the assets off for the Residential School survivors.

Every church should be paying income tax, property tax, all salaries should be taxed. If they donate to a registered legitimate charity they should get refunds.
All donations should be made public record as well.

    let’s fuckin go.

I was raised Pentecostal for 15 years including private Christian schooling and church 3 days a week, morning and evening on sundays. That’s a whole moving truck of boxes waiting to be unpacked in therapy someday
