Hey guys, So during tax season from now until April 30, I am always too busy to eat right, and they bring in star bucks three times a day into the office. Anyway, Im done with that it makes me feel like shit and I usually put on a pound or two. Well over the past few months I have lost 6 and now am seeing a personal training once a week until April 30th and want to lose 5 more. So RC, instead of donughts and chips, can you give me ideas for quick (delicious) snacks that I can grab on fly - other than veggies, I already have those everyday. Im tired of the same couple snacks I have been eating the last couple of months.
hmm I dont like the two together, but I love peanut butter and crackers, thanks for the idea hehe. I am also planning on buying lots of fruit to bring in to the office this year isntead of donuts and such... thanks thunder I forgot how much I love that!
fruit yogurt or apple sauce with flax seed, salba or oatmeal cottage cheese mini wraps or a full wrap sliced so the peices can be eaten thoughout the day seeds and/or nuts I really like putting some small peices of cheese, meat and grapes in a container for snacking on during the day. I also like the kashi dark chocolate and cherry granola bars, they are great for when I'm tempted by the vending machine.
If you're going to have PB as a snack, you should opt for the natural variety to skip on the sugar, salt and hydrogenated oil added to the other.
Granola Fruit (I usually do a bowl of grapes or chopped up pineapple) Nuts Guardian Cereal (SUPER high in fibre and good for you -- I bring a baggie and munch away at it while I work) Yogurt Low fat cheese Veggies and light ranch dressing
I always bring an Activia or a chocolate chip All Bran bar to work for my mid-day snack (the bars are soo yummy, I've gotten a few people hooked on them already). When I'm home and craving something salty I go for Smart Pop popcorn, and I always have a melon fruit bowl on hand if I'm craving something sweet (watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe).
I have the smart pop too.. But its not for people who are used to eating alot of regular flavoured popcorm
My god I wish I worked somewhere that brought in starbucks three times a day.. i would be the happiest person alive!! I'm constantly snacking on wheat thins and the light veggie philidelphia dip.. you can also use those mini pitas they are fantastic.. and I buy those baby carrots and ranch dip weekly.. I cut out junk food after new years and i've never felt so good.. and i hit the gym up twice a week.. as long as you aren't eating crap every day you shouldn't have a problem loosing the extra 5.. rice crakers are really good too.. the mini ones and the big ones..
Snaks I eat every day(from about 10am to 2pm): - grapes - honeydew/Cantalope - yogert (with blueberries and bran buds mixed in) - muligrain pretzels - I will mix in some of those tostito's rice chip type thingies too...Salsa and Sour Cream
It is. I don't have a lot of salt in my diet so I don't worry too much about it but I did notice at the grocery store the other day you can get low sodium cottage cheese.
great suggestions guys - thanks so much!!! Stace and Noel, Im not a toothpick, Ill agree Im not obese, but I want to tonne up and not feel so yucky.
Get a block of part-skim (2%) mozzarella cheese. Take a serving or two with you to work each day. (A serving is about 1 1/4 ounce ususally). I've always got a bunch of snacks in my desk. Currently: Pecans, peanuts, sunflower seeds, all bran buds, cheerios, dried cranberries, raisins, protein powder, canned chicken (low sodium), canned turkey (low sodium), protein bars, almond butter, natty pb, skim milk (the last three live in the fridge...haha).
