My work stayed closed on the 24th and 26th. We got paid for the 25th, but not the other 2 days. Is this normal if management closes for a couple days? Just curious.

My wife had to use vacation/flex days to get paid for those two days, even though her work was closed. The only actual STAT is Xmas day. The other two arent. So if your work pays, bonus!

I believe its based on hours worked within a certain period of time. If the business closes for a holiday or their own reasons, you need to have worked a certain number of hours within a certain time frame before the closure in order to get paid for that day. Or something like that .

I guess I'm just not used to an hourly wage My last 2 jobs were salary and my weekly pay was the same no matter what.

We just switched all our dept from hourly to salary. Before this, holiday pay was an extra amount on their pay since they worked 4 days a week but got a bonus day from the holiday. Now they make like 6-8k more per year but complain about losing out on $160 every other month :cheddar:

We finished on the 21st, and back today. Had to cover 4 days in there with either vacation / banked time / unpaid / come in to work by yourself since no one else would be here.
