Anyone have information on where to find some good used fleet vans/short buses? Looking for a camper conversion project rig. All I'm finding locally is NS tenders and I missed out on a few already. A few Aliant vans beimg flipped on Kijiji but I feel like you'd get them for half the asking price right from the source.

I have actually but not recently. Not much on there locally and the minimum bids seem out of whack to me. I'll put it back on my list to watch

You’re going to want to hit up some auctions. Mannheim has a public one every once in a while

Manheim the only public one around? I looked at Ritchie Bros but nothing at the last one

Mannheim would probably be the least amount of junk. Is Ritchie bros the one in woodside?

unless you have a dealers license you are SOL on finding a decent one for 1500. theres a million electrical/hvac/ heat pump companies with tiny budgets that scoop the clean ones up as soon as they land on the lots.

that one isnt too bad, reasonable kms for the age, and parts are cheap as fuck.

Just keep your eye on kijiji. You'll probably find one that has been half converted and being sold off cheap. Nobody ever finishes them

There's been a few of those around! Nothing insulated or wired properly though so I'd have to rip everything out anyway and start fresh.

My goal is to use this as a off grid weekender. Probably end up in over my head haha

Probably snap some photos as I go but not sure it will be threadworthy. Plan is to be more functional than pretty

I came across an express HD that my company has, it’s kind of rough and would need a hood and minor body work and tires, but I can get it to you for next to nothing. I don’t know how much of a “project” you’re looking for but if you want bottom of the barrel cheap, like sub 1k I can probably make that happen

Hmmm I was looking to spend a bit more and get something solid but that is tempting. How minor is the body work? Seems to be a bunch out there that are rusted to fuck and I don't want to mess around with that

It’s pretty rusty. I’d have to take a look next week to see how bad.

I've been on the hunt for an old Van body to cut off the Van and make into a redneck camper on the back of my truck... I've been unwilling to spend any amount of money on such a terrible idea though... Let me know what you find out Aaron

Went to an auction on Saturday. Couple of decent rigs but went for more than I was willing to pay. Could have gotten an access a bus for a smoking deal but I don't have the storage space for something that big
