Just testing out a new blanket/basket combo before a "real" shoot. Kinda like this one.

FInally went back to shooting manual after 6 months of almost exclusive AV mode. I forgot what a difference it can make. Manual focus too......that was interesting. Missed it by a hair here.

Truthfully I don't like the basket/blanket Tanya, sorry. What do I know though. The side of her face camera left looks overexposed on my screen too. You're the master of making the eyes pop as always though.

    Fixed my typos above

Couples things. First, it's my DAUGHTER. Second, I might check your screen. The face is FAAAAAAAR from underexposed.

hahaha sorry Tanya, I knew it was your daughter, trying to multitask here at work and NOT very well obviously. I meant overexposed too of course. Boy that was a great post!

I find the blanket a bit too distracting-like a muppet gone wild!

I really like the blanket, I think it works. Can you explain what you ment about changing from av to manual, and the difference it made?

Just that it gave me more control over the look as a whole, as far as lighting was concerned. :)

Very nice. I like the second one better.
Where did you get the blanket? Care to share? I'd like to get one for my couch.

Now the blanket looks less "Muppet gone wild" in the second shot :kekeke: I do like this one better, maybe cause there's more beautiful baby to see! She's gonna be a real pro at this by the time she hits 1.

it must be that it's early, but to me the nose and mouth look sharper than the eyes

    That one rocks!

Edit: I think the first one had too much white / lightness on the top and RHS edges for me, where I didn't find the background distracting on this one. I zoomed in on her cute face.

Do you have enough shots to put together a book yet? I think it would be a great marketing piece for you. Anne Geddes move over.....

I think the blanket is awesome! Random colours, and wild and unrestrained style - just like the imagination of a child. I think it compliments young children wonderfully.

Tanya, you do fantastic work with kids. A rare talent to be sure...

Good idea re: the book Scott.... I have something in the works with a few maternity boutiques and that may be something to think about!

Kevin, what a great compliment, thank you!
