Looking for a program that will rip the contents of a directory including sub-dirs and copy the contents to a text file for catalog purposes, any suggestions?

More specifically, this is how with XP at least...

    dir /b *.* > filename.txt

Do this in the folder you need the contents of, and the filename.txt file will have the DIR info, with no filesize, no comments, or file attribs. Just the name of the file.

doing the dir /b *.* > filename.txt works well for like a mp3 directory or cd, however if you plan to do a whole drive use Advanced Disk Catalog like you said. I used it before works great. Here is a review if you wanna read before using http://www.vnunet.com/Download/1124290
