For someone looking to sell their vehicle privately, how do you deal with test drives? Do you let them go alone, go with them, or drive it yourself? Anything else I should know or be aware of?

Also, car had a safety inspection Sept 2019, good until Sept 2021. Do I need to get a new safety inspection done to sell it? (NS Vehicle)

test drive with them, mvi could be an issue when they go to register the car as is supposed to only be 30 days old or you need a new one, but they don't seem to inforce that a lot

I've always let folks go on their own. Insurance covers it (double check your policy specifically) if they take off with your car and don't return.

Yeah, quick sale...but I just let them take it too. I am not sure I would if they didn't have a vehicle left behind of some value, but I've never run into that.

I usually just get a copy of their license, if they steal the vehicle and you have adequate insurance, well, easiest sale ever haha.

Took a pic of the license and they gave me the car keys of the vehicle they came in.
Sold the car within 1.5 days of the listing. I was so unprepared that I had to clear all my personal items out of the car on the spot. Totally did not expect it to go so fast and was just going to trade it in this week if it didn't sell

Nice, seems like the only things selling fast these days are houses. I sold my last truck privately vs trade in. They offered me like 8 for trade and I got 12 in the sale. Well worth the month it took to sell.
