That's one thing I don't miss about living in NS.

So far, after two years of living out west - one power outage!

I honestly can't recall a power outage in the 2+ years I was in Edmonton, or the year and a half that I've been in Calgary.

Went out around 7:15 in the Sports Stadium area of Glendale. I was taking the kids swimming and going to the gym for my workout but we were running late. Almost to Pinehill coming from the highway and the lights went out  If we were on time I would have been at the gym and the kids would have been in the pool. It was out from Chandler (I think Chandler is the last street on the right before the Stadium coming from the highway) both sides of the street until you got to Pinehill. There were some lights on Pinehill and the lone house across the street from Pinehill had power. There was no power by the Stadium. The lights at Metropolitan were working and they had power up Metropolitan but the lights at Glendale were flashing.

We went to DQ for ice cream instead :kekeke:

Nova Scotia power is a fucking joke and if the politicians weren't in their back pocket I'm sure something would be done.

yeah that's one bonus to being on city water. Not much stops the water supply.

I've lived off the grid a few years ago for 2 years. propane water heater, propane stove, gravity fed water & a generator is all you need.

When my sister and my parents had no power for 5-7 days after Juan my house became the campout place  They would come for buckets of water, to shower, or my sister would come to bathe her son (he was only a month old). Or they would just come to have tea because even when I didn't have power I had water. Both their houses were on well.
