My regular line up is all true crime casefiles true Canadian crime court junkie crime junkie criminal I actually had an interview to be a co host for monster?!?. The host and I didn't jive, seems like the type that would wear your skin to sleep.
Darknet Diaries 99% invisible CBC - death in cryptoland (great one time series on quadriga.cx) The Edge (one time series... excellent. It's about the Houston Astros cheating) Tom Talks 13 hours (one time series on the NS mass murders)
13 hours was down really well. The ad played so much promoting the Nygaard one I ended up listening to that as well... insane
Peter Nygaard was like the Canada version of Epstein, but IMO 100% worse. its just going/gone through the courts now
He went full retarded with his point of view on covid and started having more political opinions.. plus the move to spotify.. too many strikes against him lol
Smartless Armchair Expert Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend Cheat! Slow Burn Crimetown the Improvement Association Serial ... then I have a bunch of other ones that I sometimes jump between.
Super into Canadaland right now regulars are: Crime in sports Small town murder Casefile Conan O’Brien needs a friend Lore Astonishing Legends Unexplained Scared to Death The Dark Side Of Nighttime Yeah I drive a lot
Ask Iliza Anything Best Friends with Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zamata Armchair Expert And That's Why We Drink Nighttime MindPump Two Girls One Ghost
The George Clooney episode of Smartless is in top 3 hilarious podcast episodes as well. I was out walking my dog when I was listening to it and had to stop bent over laughing.
He can be a lot! It depends on the episode and guest they have on, I pick and choose what ones I think will be good. It's good to be self aware but it is occasionally over the top and leads to him projecting.
I'm the same as KLD - I listen to the episodes with a guest that looks really interesting - if Dax is being tiresome, I just shut it off. Someone recommended the Russel Brand episode - I've tried it twice and shut it off twice.
i can’t really formulate why it doesn’t engage me but yeah over the top trying to connect with his guest or prove that he’s an intelligent person and it always brought the conversation back around to himself. I’d pick and choose guests too but it got to be like JRE where the host annoys me too much to enjoy the guest.
Armchair is also going exclusive to Spotify which means I'll probably stop listening... and I'm a Spotify subscriber - I just don't use it for podcasts.
I've also been listening to a ton of Alcohol Recovery podcasts lately but I doubt anyone would be interested unless they're in the same boat or "sober curious" - ton of great material out there, though.
I started listening last night. its a little out of my element but its very interesting..who would hack kid toys
Yeah, there's lot of hacking stories on there. It's definitely geared towards those interested in tech
With the exception of KLD and the odd sports & tech podcast you guys are a pretty dark bunch. I am getting a mental picture of the goths from Letterkenny
I've had a hard time finding a podcast I like; not really into crime podcasts (my wife actually is one of the co-hosts on Crime Family... something that they have been doing in their spare time). I've listened to some of The Network Collective and The Broadband Bunch.. they're okay. I work in the ISP space so trying to find something technical that I like seems to be rather difficult.
Cheat! was a new one for me. It’s new and only about 6 or so episodes. Really good, now a weekly “listen when a new one comes out”
Conan O'Brien's podcast is great. He's so much funnier off script. Makes me hate that network TV tied him up for so long.
Probably the same with most podcasts but I just have to be careful not to binge it too much - a lot of his stories tend to repeat over time. First year of the pandemic, I binged too much and had to stop for a while. I’ve been peppering him back into my lineup.
Sean Hayes drives me nuts after a while - the whole "my sister in Wisconsin" thing is *way* over-done. His need to explain every little detail comes across as condescending after a while. But other than that, I love it. Did you listen to the Clooney episode, 17 ?
