First of all I'm not very computer smart. Everytime I run McAfee, Adaware,Superantispyware,Malawarebytes none will finish scanning, my computer restarts on its own and I get a message saying it has recovered from a serious problem. I tried to run McAfee in safe mode but it did the same thing. I also tried disc scan and the same thing happened.

What operating system do you have? If it's Windows Vista, uninstall all of those garbage programs, as they're just slowing your system down and not really doing anything. McAfee/Norton are useless and a waste of money. Use AVG anti-virus. It's free. http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Vi...42.html?part=dl-AVGAntiVir&subj=dl&tag=button Download AVG first, then disconnect your computer from the internet and uninstall all of those programs. Restart and install AVG.
I'd still uninstall everything. Maybe download the newest version of Adaware, but get rid of everything else. Mcafee and those other programs are garbage and probably making your system worse off.
remove anything you want and format it.. why bother with any of this crap. Its clear you have something...
Yep, reformat is your only option. You definitely have something that can't be removed easily. It's best just to start with a clean slate.
Reformat. Back up what you want to keep and reinstall. At this point it seems like your only way to be sure everything is gone. Unless you have the virus that hides in your MBR and reinstalls itself after the format.
i can't reformat because i don't have a disc to reinstall it,,,,,, my computer came with xp already installed and no disc.
Bring it back to where you got it. If you started off with a licensed copy there is no reason they should not give you a copy to put on. Likewise I believe it would actually be legal to download a copy as long as you use your own serial. Double check with the geeks on here about this.
This is true. She can use her licensed product key to install a downloaded copy of XP. I've done it numerous times.
If you know anybody with and externel hard drive you should get them to back up anything you really want off the compauter and then do a clean install after a full format. After you get re installed hook up to the internet and go straight to AVG's website and install it and then do all available updates. After that plug the external hard drive into your computer and the do a full virus scan on it and then if that is good copy your files back over. Set up your AVG to install updates daily at a time when your computer will definetly be turned on. Make sure to turn off system restoer on your drives before doing anything also, virus's can be stored in system restore. You could also try an online scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
