Playing .avi

    what progam to use I got like 4 I have to watch but no program will play them

    I have tried
    DIVX
    Quicktime
    Window Media Player
    (Microsoft) Windows Media Player
    RealOne Player
    Internet Explorer

    you need the codec for that version of .avi apparently. Go to divx.com and you should find a codec that will work. If all else fails, download and install the new DivX player 5.*

    There is also a codec called Angelpotion that I needed for just one media file that I downloaded.

    if you can find a copy of powerdvd, that plays pretty much everything

    like they said get WMP9 if you dont have it already.

    Use google search for these and download the Nemo codec pack

    Then go to Kazaa and get the Ligos codec

    make sure you installed the DivX codec pack when you installed it i'm pretty sure it gives you the option not to. The DivX one pretty much works for almost all of them, only a odd few will use a different one.

    I also forgot , get the XviD codec.. use Google to search for it...

    do they not play at all? or video with no sound? sound with no video? choppy?

    it also could be that the file is incomplete.
