Since there isn't an Enviroment section to make this thread.
It will go in GOT BEEF!

    Here is my BEEFFF!

    I just sold a calander penholder thing-a-ma-bob.
The customer already had a bag , so I asked them if they woud like a bag , or do you just want to put it in the one they already have.
They said " No, Ill have a bag"
So I put the item in the bag .....

    THENN GUESS WHAT THEY DID!!!!!!!!

They put the bag with the pen holder INSIDE of the other bag they already have.
Seriously what was the point in taking another bag when you clearly already have a bag thats BIGGER then the one I gave you.

    RAAGEEEEEEE!!

Killing the planet one bag at a time people. :pissed:

You're mad because a bag wanted a bag?

Maybe they have a dog and use the bags for poop scooping?

There are bags you can buy at walmart for that.

    Which are much smaller.

Eventually they plan on phasing out "old" plastics with the "biodegradable plastic", which I think is made from corn/starch vs synthetic petrochemicals.

    http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/manufacturing/2008-12-25-biodegradable-plastic_N.htm

Because plastic is petroleum-based, we won't see the complete phasing out of old plastic until they phase out oil, which could be a while.

Maybe the "As Seen On TV" store could start selling Biodegradable plastic bags??

I collect bags and then use them as garbage bags, because I think buying garbage bags is a waste of money.

:werd: And you are buying plastic bags just to use for garbage then instead of reusing bags that you bring products home from the store in. Reusing shopping bags is better for the environment

I keep a couple in my pocket to keep rabbit blood off my car since I can't get in the trunk anymore.

There was a report on the news tonight about that - "biodegradable plastic" really isn't - HRM won't accept it in green bins, for example.

They can make biodegradable plastic from algae now. It's only a matter of time until it's mainstream.

Ah whoops. I meant to agree with this one.

We can get in the trunk and there are no worries about the rabbit blood.

I have nothing wrong with them being used to an extent, they are good in small garbage cans or for other purposes but I find when it comes to the bus, the reusable ones hold so much more and are just easier, you can set them on your lap easier or they stand up on the floor.

I use plastic grocery store type bags for my paper and cardboard recyclables.

I also recycle old plastic bags and put them curbside in a separate bag.

I buy relatively expensive fitted garbage bags for the 12L and 30L stainless trash cans in my apartment. Grocery store bags don't look right. I hate the overhang and I'm an anal bastard. :o
