Bout freakin time!
He must have totally lost control during the second intermission last night..!
He was the only coach fired this year with a winning record
I really don't understand the logic behind this decision, he didn't exactly have a stellar lineup of players to work with this year. Ohh he had Crosby and Malkin, thats right, that should be all the team needs right
Supposedly the 6-2 loss to the Leafs Saturday night was the beginning of the end for him.
There was definitely a disturbance in the force.
There have always been rumours that he didn't get along with Crosby and Malkin also....
yeah, a lot of players apparently have voiced concerns with playing for him.
Well he is kind of a dick, but I doubt a new coach will fix the team.
They've won 27 and lost 30, how is that a winning record?
Generally new coaches do have positive effects on under achieving or unmotivated teams. I think Pittsburgh falls into one of those categories. A change in approach, lines and systems will help get them into the post season. Look at how Ottawa has responded to the change in coaching. Also Chicago benefited from the change earlier this season.
I have to wonder though if its too little too late.
I don't think it's going to make a difference.
The Pens probably wont make the playoffs.
Does anyone hold any hope for the playoffs? I mean that 6-2 loss was crazy! I couldn't belive how quickly it went south... It was like watching a freaking train wreck. I still have hope though, I mean there is always hope isn't there??????
yeah, I have hope the Leafs make it too....
When i was looking at stats last night the record was 27-25. Still not a stellar record by any means. But still.
I hate the pens, and their wagon jumping fans, so I' am glad they are losing, hopefully a nice big playoff loss as well
They rattle off a 10 game winning streak and they're right in the thick of it. They're only 5 points out with 25 to play. Certainly not impossible with the talent they have. Also if they can pick up a decent winger at the deadline it strengthens their chances even more. There's a couple of teams in front of them who haven't been in playoff position in the past few years and could fade down the stretch.
Far from a Pens fan, I'm a Flyers fan. But I do like Crosby and hope his team and he do well.
Im a flyers fan and despise the pens, mainly because of their fans, not so much the actual team.
Thats how I feel about the Senators.
A lot of people would drop the 5 OT losses and claim they are over 500. I can't stand that.
Agree 100% with this. On paper, the Pens are one of the better teams in the league and could easily climb over any of the bottom 4 teams in the East.. If you assume Therrien was the problem, and add in the return of Gonchar, they definitely have a legit shot.
fuck you snidey
hatin on the buds
Bang on Leroy. They threw that game BIG TIME. Sid and co. made a statement in that game. I knew right after that "Michelle" would be gone...
Just wondering why Tom Fitzgerald wasn't made HEAD coach? He used to frustrate the hell out of Mario and co. back in the day!
Sid needs a Right-shooting winger then this team will be deadly.
Also, trade Britney for a SOLID D-man. Hard to believe this team had a shot at Dion Phaneuf!!! O well!!
Personally...I think the pens should trade Malkin for a few quality players. They can't keep both Malkin and Crosby along with dreams of putting a top calabre team together, too much salary tied up in the two of them....and Malkin will be the one to go...might as well get some goodies for him now.
I guess Shero and Co. made the right decision huh?
yup, I suppose they did
Bylsma is the man!
Any word on hosting the games on the big screen at CHP this year?
