Who is getting their pancake on today? Eating in or going out?

I wanted to go to a community event but they all seem to end around 6:00 and I have a training session at 5:30 so I plan to hit up the Chickenburger ($5.99 pancakes/bacon/milk all proceeds to IWK)

Not a thing in the States, so we'll be making them at home (which we usually do anyway).

Yeah they do. Most places always did if you asked since they just throw them in the microwave

Mardi Gras is pretty specific to New Orleans, AFAIK. I brought up Pancake Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday) in a meeting with about 20 other people yesterday (all from the US) and no one knew what I was talking about. Someone mentioned the start of Mardi Gras, but it's not something celebrated outside of New Orleans.

Pancake Tuesday not really an American thing.

Shrove Tuesday (also known in Commonwealth countries as Pancake Tuesday or Pancake day) is the day in February or March immediately preceding Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent), which is celebrated in some countries by consuming pancakes. In others, especially those where it is called Mardi Gras or some translation thereof, this is a carnival day, and also the last day of "fat eating" or "gorging" before the fasting period of Lent.

Shrove Tuesday is observed by many Christians, including Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists and Roman Catholics
