I don't have any seamless paper so had to do the best I could with what I had.

Cute... one suggestion...shoot at a slightly lower angle.

or... step back and zoom in a bit more.

yeah, for kids you really want to get down on their level when possible most of the time. and don't hit us with the 'i have no seemless paper' as if it's a bad thing. Use it to your advantage like you did here.
I am telling ya's...anyone that wants a picture on a backdrop or plain background can go get that knocked out at walmart for 12 bucks. Think of and use your environment. That's not to say that there isn't a PLACE for isolated on white, or that in a session it's something that should NEVER happen, I just mean in general you have to become good at working in any environment you are presented with to set yourself apart from the crowd...for example t's maternity shot the other day...what if she'd have just shot that first shot of the series posted on plain white or black. it would have been OK...but nowhere near as kickass as it is as shot. I'm just saying...don't think of it as limiting. Think of it as enabling.

I am stealing your toy chest.

Looks good, but yes, get lower.......like, right on yer butt. You've got "mommy angle" here. I don't want to be able to see the back of the chest.

I'd also like to see it a bit more contrasty. I know it's the processing, but it seems a bit too washed out to me.

Thanks for the comments everyone. My wife made me shoot at this angle as she wanted to see the top of the trunk. :( ... And Clif I was right against the wall so couldn't go back any further. I wanted to use my 50mm 1.4 but couldn't get back far enough to get everything in. The background was muslin.

Did your wife make you take only one frame too? :hsugh:  Surely you could take one to appease her, and then take one the way you wanted?

I took lots of frames but this is the one she picked for me to work on, the client (wife) is always right. :D I'll post one from my bum tonight to prove I'm not fibbing. :hsugh:
