Bringing an old thread back from the dead.

How is your teams doing?? I am very happy with the Islanders this year. We had some nice pick-ups like Leddy and Boychuk. They seem to be helping us a lot. I am not enjoying the Wings in the East at all. They are not fitting very well.
Edit::: Guess I shouldn't say they aren't fitting in as in points. They just don't seem to be like the wings of a few years ago.

    Islanders are fun to watch.

Really enjoying the Sens start to the season, though I think everyone is just waiting for it to implode. The kid line (Stone, Hoffman, Lazar) is showing a ton of promise. I just wish MacLean would stop juggling lines. Legwand's been a bit of a bust so far, and we need help on D, but overall things are going better than expected.

Sens are doing very well so far....so are the Leafs. It is a very strange season. I like watching the Sens better as I love their size and they just seem to lay the hits more. It seems that the lower teams of a few years are showing their building promises they had made finally. I haven't been watching the West very often.

I am enjoying the Pens this year, they seem to be playing well with the changes they made.

Leafs are showing they can play and win, but lack the consistency. Loving the mix of young guns and veterans brought in for specific roles. Was super excited for MacKinnon to light up the league this year but the Avs have pulled an Oilers this year..loaded with talent and no execution.

Yeah, the Avs have been the biggest disappointment. Dallas is also proof that loading up on Free Agent talent does not equal wins.

West is so much different to watch than the East, I watch a fair amount of both being a leafs fan and living in Edmonton. Look at Montreal, tearing it up in the East, but are 1-3 against the west.

West is a lot more structure defensively...and defense creates offence, and defense wins games.

Yeah I would say it is more run and gun in the East for sure.

haha. they'd probably draft some 30 year old from a local beer league if they got the first pick.

but it would be nice to have a young sustainable asset. but im sure they'll get hot late and end up with the 14th pick or some shit.

After the last two losses, I wouldn't say they don't need one.

Although, to be fair...the goalies have been hung out to dry.

goaltending isnt the main problem. I dont even know why they felt the need to get bernier. reimer's numbers were good enough

I would trade bernier and get some depth elsewhere

and an edmonton beer league team could beat the oilers

If you suck that bad at your job for that long and are being paid millions of dollars, expect it. Everyone else would be fired. The players are the face of the company, so they take the brunt of it. Ultimately, it is the old boys club up top, it should be Kevin Lowe there in the picture, not Eakins.

MacT gets fired as a coach and they bring him in as GM, solid succession plan gents.

Lowe is the issue, plus he blatantly disrespects the fans. The problem, in my opinion, is that Katz has basically installed his hockey idols from growing up in the city into the system and won't can them. It will be 9 years since they had the cup run, Lowe says he knows a little about winning after all the cups, but unfortunately he doesn't have coat tails to ride in this situation like he did when the won the cups.
