With McNeil surprising everyone today by announcing his resignation, let's talk provincial politics!

Who do you think will succeed him? Who would you like to see run? Who do you think will win the next provincial election?

    aaaaaaaaaaaaand go.

Didn't see this coming. McNeil did well handling the covid crisis too.

Have to wonder whether he saw writing on the wall... writing that said recession..
Get out while you're on top, or get thrown out in a couple years tarnished because of a bad economy..

Sucks to lose a fiscally conservative liberal leader. Rare breed these days.

I'm sure being the face of the province during a pandemic and a mass murder likely sealed the deal on his resignation. Like him or not the months of press conferences with Strang providing a consistent and strong message is much more appreciated than the message put out there by other political leaders.

Yeah, disliked him for many things, but I think he did well with the covid handling. No idea who takes over the ship.

The quality of people in politics these days is pretty terrible. It's sad :(

I said to my wife I wouldn’t be surprised if it’ll be someone like Lena Diab. Really thinking the next leader may be female. If it was a year or two ago I’d say hands down Geoff MacLellan but after almost losing the last election, and his portfolio shuffle he’s gone off the radar hard like there was an issue or falling out.

Seeing Sean Fraser's name get tossed around. Younger fella, seems like he has a good head on his shoulders.

I see a relationship. The unions went after the province in court over the imposed contracts, and will probably win. He doesn't want to be around when the shit hits the fan.
