2004 GSXR 600 making about 133hp. To put in in perspective, my F4 makes 96hp and my buddys GSXR 1000 makes 129hp.

    129hp is actually pathetic for a GSXR 1000 :9mm: Thats more 2002/3 R1 Territory.

it also depends on who's doing the dyno run though, 'cause I know my uncle's old GSXR1000 dynod lower with a different person doing it, there's a technique.

technique? Thats like saying hitting the gas pedal with your toes produces more power isnt it?.. A dyno is designed to measure hp at WOT. Maybe the extra weight may have changed the output slightly. I was at the show at Pro watching the dyno runs, they were all just WOT runs, and if thats the case it really shouldnt matter whos twisting the throttle because no 2 runs will be identical, there will be some variance, but not that much. If the output of the machine is going to change depending on who is sitting on it at the time, then really, how accurate is a dyno?

PS- Where are the variables on that graph?? RPM's? TQ output? Is that a chop?

Either way, it didnt hit 145 there ;) That must be an old graph is it?

You're not using logic. For a Gixxer to be under 138 would mean there is something seriously seriously wrong with it. Serious like they forgot to put the pistons in or the guy running it forgot to start it. 129 would make it the same power as a 929. Gixxers were the most powerfull of the big 4 until this year when all the other companies redid their lines.

You can't measure RPM if you don't have the primary wire hooked up, and I'd assume it wasn't. Its a dual axis graph. Hp on one, that only leaves one other axis, and speed was put on that one.

I really have no idea that technical stuff is over my head  I just remember one of the mechanic guys for one of the factory teams talking about it at the Superbike races last summer... I really wouldn't have the slightest clue. Something to do with how the bike is brought to max throttle/RPM, I'm not the one to ask.

I dont understand, on a dyno its brought to max RPM at wide open throttle. If you got it cranked open I dont see how there is a better way of doing it

At the low RPMs at WOT you could have it bog down a little, so they might roll it on a little smoother. I'm pretty sure they go WOT right away though.

Either way, your gonna be WOT through mid and top-end so your peak power shouldn't change that much if any.. Maybe if you twist with your left hand it likes it better?
