The trade deadline's approaching - any rumors, truths, or stories you've heard?

I mostly only ready Ottawa news, and it's pretty much the obvious - Chris Neil and Filip Kuba are both UFA's next year, so are likely out of Ottawa this year in a trade for prospects. Rumors swirl about Jason Spezza since his no-trade clause hasn't kicked in - would be interesting to see what he brings in return considering Ottawa got him (and Chara) for a washed-up Yashin..

Leafs fans shouldn't be buying any new jerseys until after the deadline... Unless you're buying "Schenn #2"

Oli Jokinen has a very good chance of being a Hab this time next week.

The only reason I have a hard time seeing Bouwmeester moving anywhere is because Jacques Martin is such a skin flint when it comes to making trades. His asking prices are always too high, so it never seems that teams are able to pull the trigger with him.

Myself being an Avs fan, i can see them moving Hejduk at the deadline. there's no rumors that i've heard but he could be a valuable asset to a team in the stretch. Same goes for Foote or Hannan.... you never know who could go

they haven't had a decent goalie since Roy.... plus they need to get rid of Tony Granato. this is his second stint behind the bench and if i recall, they missed the playoffs the last time he was there too

Pittsburgh just traded Whitney to Anaaheim for Kunitz and Tangradi. I've never heard of Tangradi before, but that's a decent deal to get things rolling in the trade market..

According to TSN, Tangradi is the #3 ranked player in the OHL.

Yeah, I went back and read a bit about him - second only to Tavares in points in the OHL this year.

Penguins definitely got the better end of the deal here - seems like Whitney hasn't been able to recover from his surgery.

Im kinda glad Gainey was able to help the guy out and move him....everyone knew he was no longer in the plans...I guess him and Gainey had talked last week and had both agreed a trade would come and that it was best for him and the team

Poor Matt Carle  If that panned out, the guy has been passed around so much.

Honestly I'm not sure if Philly can make any big moves with their cap situation. They just put a couple guys on waivers to make room for Briere returning. Would be nice to see J-Bo in Philly though, even at that price.

    Me too.

Tommy K's emergence as an even grittier checker who has better hands is what cost Steve his spot in the line up. I hope he does well in Dallas.

The Begin deal seems to be a salary dump, looks like another deal coming. :x:

If he comes, it'll be at a tremendous cost which would likely include 2-3 current roster players.
He's pricy to pick up at the deadline, and even pricier to take his 7.8m salary for the next 11 yrs.

I'm definitley not saying that I don't want to see him in a Habs jersey, God knows I'd love it! Just not sure if he's worth the projected asking price.
